Bob Evan’s Farm Festival

Well the time has gotten away from me and it has been a while since I posted anything. Not like me at all. LOL!

It was a busy weekend and a busy first of the week here with the Fall Festivals going on. Plus with  the changing of the leaves making everything beautiful here in the hills one has to get out and snap some pictures.

Friday the 12th my daughter and I attended the Bob Evan’s Farm Festival at Rio Grande, Ohio.

We love going every year because of all of the craft vendors that are there selling there wares. Sorry I have no pictures of the crafts because some of the vendors frown upon pictures and the stealing of their ideas.

It turned out to be a beautiful day so after looking around we drove on out to a local lake there called Tycoon Lake.

The leaves were not as brilliant in southern Ohio this year I believe because of the lack of rain there this fall and there was still some green trees there. This week they should be at peak down in Gallia county.

But the water looked beautiful with the sun glistening on it.

Tuesday was spent raking all the beautiful leaves up that are now falling everywhere.  I am afraid our leaves will all be gone this week. With some rain this morning and strong winds many are falling and it looks like I never raked at all.

Old tired perennials were taken from the window boxes and tossed onto the compost pile. They will be replaced with white and burgundy pansies that I always bring home from the festival each year.

I hope everyone is enjoying this wonderful fall weather because it will be gone all too soon just like this month that seems to be marching along much to fast.

Everyone have a beautiful week and…….
Happy Gardening,
Lona

  6. Hi Lona...your photo's are gorgeous. We are still pushing temps in the high 90's and it's just plain disgusting. :) Our Winter just may be like your Autumn. It was last year.. :(
Thanks for sharing your Fall..because I have none!

  7. Lovely photos. I can't believe most of your leaves will be down by this weekend. Hardly any of ours has fallen. It's so weird this year.

  8. Beautiful photos Lona, I'm for the first time on your blog and enjoyed your garden, your Irises are spectacular and roses are my favourites too. At this moment we have rather warm autumn weather here in The Netherlands, so spending a lot of time outsiide in the garden, raking leaves for instance.
I shall be your next new follower.

  12. I love the turning of the seasons--so much new beauty appears. Fall leaves! Mums! Bluer-than-blue sky!

The quilt patterns on the barn are so wonderful. We don't have anything like that around here.

Enjoy putting your garden to bed for a long winter's nap :)

  13. Hi Lona! Love the fall festivals, I wish I had gone to the one here in Door County, but alas, no time with work on Aaargh hanging over our heads. Fall is zipping by way too quickly here, too. Very soon we'll be seeing white.

Have a great weekend, dear lady!

Balisha: You know we love to run around girl. LOL!

Jen: We usually get some snow but last year ti was a very mild winter for us. I wonder what is in store for us this winter.

Grace: The lakes were beautiful. I wish the wind would have died down so the lake was more mirror like for the shots. I always want more. LOL! The barn was one we happened upon on a road stop. Lucky stop. LOL!

Debby: They were so beautiful this year Debby. I hope you are enjoying yours too.

Roxy: You are right about the beautiful blue skies this time of the year without the humidity hanging over us.

Karen: Girl I know you are busy with Aaarg. I bet you will be glad to see that project finished one day.

Tatyana: The barn was taken when we came upon some road construction that stopped us. Always a picture opt in everything. LOL!

  22. Hello Lona! What a beautiful festival. Love that nice entrance and the three big pots above the giant pot arrangement a lot. Lack of rain at your place? We are having plenty here! It has been raining non-stop for more than a week now. If possible, I wish I can send some dark clouds to your place haha... Enjoy your new pansies. White and burgundy is a striking combination :-D

  26. It looks glorious there Lona, even if winter is right around the corner. I've been doing what you were in your previous post ~ moving plants inside. ugh. It's so much more fun to move things out in the spring.
Hopefully winter will zip by & we can be back outside again soon.

btw I've been trying to find some 'Red Caroline' Delphinium seeds to send you & there don't appear to be ANY??? Could it be sterile? I can't think of any other reason?? I'm going to look it up & get back to you.
