I hope everyone is having a good week. We are having our January thaw now with some milder temperatures and sunshine.
It will likely all be down hill from there. LOL!
To continue the tour of my favorite “Places and Gardens” of 2012:
We visited the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum and Gardens on the James Madison University campus in Harrisonburg,Virginia the first of June. After a hard rain the night before the pond was muddy but the gardens were just beautiful.

Then we went on to the Lewis Ginter Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Richmond, Virginia.

Wild Blue Yonder Roses
The Children's Garden and Waterpark
Fragrant Cloud Roses
The Butterfly Exhibit
Orchids
The Rose Garden where the new roses are grown and evaluated.
Since there was so much visiting during 2012 I am going to have to make this into three parts. There was just too much I loved about these two wonderful gardens not to show a bunch of pictures of them.

And that faux-painted cottage door! How cute would that be instead of the Plain Jane that I have into my garage right now--suppose I can talk my sweetie into letting me give it a whirl?
Well that was as good as going on a trip to somewhere warm. See the archives do keep winter at bay.

Beautiful gardens. I've been to Richmond once - to a NASCAR Race! I managed to get my husband to tour some of the historical sites but we didn't get to any gardens. Guess I'll have to go back.
