We are still getting some rain but it looks like the
warmer temperatures are coming in and going to
stay around now. Time to get some of the seeded
annuals potted up and some veggies planted.
Today is Fertilizer Friday sponsored by our
seed sowing, flower growing, Queen of creativity
Tootsie at ‘Tootsie Time’.
I have a few to flaunt today that I was able to get pictures
of in between the rain showers this week.
The Blue Hill Salvia is starting to get some blooms"
now.
The Campanula Blue Waterfall is getting some of its
tiny blooms. It is starting to spread out onto the walkway
stones now.
It has blue-purple star shaped blooms.
The Columbine Blue Alpina is starting to shed its blooms.
It did well for its first year of blooming. Maybe it will self
seed for me so I will have more or seeds can be saved to
start some more plants.
The Crimson Bouquet Floribunda rose is
starting to bloom. This is the first season I
can remember that the roses are blooming
before my peonies.

Lavender Simplicity Rose.
The climbing red roses on the garage side are in
sad shape this spring. With all of the rain it is getting
mildew on its leaves and I have only been able to spray
it with a fungicide once in between the rains which just
got rained off. Maybe this weekend it will dry up long
enough for me to spray them.
I have so many red roses here in this garden bed that
I had to plant some new ones this spring. Pink Knockouts,
white Iceberg and Yellow Sunny Knockouts have been
planted along with a coral orange Easy Does It Floribunda.

The Foxgloves are starting to open their blooms.
I forget the name of this one that has self sowed
over the years.
Dianthus Antique Rose started from seed is looking
wonderful. I love the two toned pink blooms with the
blue-silver foliage.
Peach Leaf White Campanula Bellflower
Rose Queen Slavia is not looking her best this
spring but has a few blooms. I think she needs
some compost around her roots to energize her.

Lovely blooms, Lona! Campanula is such a good spreader, isn't it? Foxglove is pretty! Its ability to self-seed is one of the features which I love in this plant. I like how you put your climbing roses to work. They decorate that white wall very well!
We have had a great deal of rain also. I spray and it washes off! My Rainbow Knockout is just starting to bloom, no campanulas yet. Your garden looks great.

Lovely blooms, Lona. My favourite has to be that stunning white Campanula ... how gorgeous! I'm also a big fan of Salvias ... the Blue Hill if such a lovely colour. I'm also a big fan of Foxgloves ... wish I could grow them here, but alas, I will just have to enjoy photos like yours. The roses are fabulous ... they are obviously loving the conditions this year!

I am in a search for a rose called America...and so far no luck in finding it. It is a climber...I have covered an arbor with them and it was stunning. This was in my last home and I am looking to recreat it...so far no luck.

I love the stained glass butterfly next to your blue Columbine. Great photo. The red Blaze looks similar to my new [last year] Carefree Spirit rose. Although not a climber it's got that same lighter center that I love, love love!!!
The Knock Out roses are just outstanding, aren't they? I think they're the only rose in my garden free of any blackspot. What a year for foliar diseases!

That little campanula looks like a wild violet to me. And while your blue columbine is charming, what I really want is that stained glass butterfly behind it. Darling! I need to make room for a Rainbow Knockout rose, but where? Hmmm. I keep admiring them. My foxglove didn't come back, so of course I had to buy a new one! Yes, we went to Silver Springs last year, but they closed Cypress Gardens before I could visit! (6 stock plants were put into the ground this week) LOL
Sorry it's taken so long for me to come to visit! We've had quite the week around here.
Your roses are going crazy! I love those big red ones. Are they the ones that used to be yellow? It's just all so pretty there. Your garden has gone flying past mine! :)
PS Did any of the Dahlias ever sprout? Mine are very slow and I'm hoping that at least one of yours have sprouted.
