We just got back from the Bob Evans Farm Festival at Rio Grande, Ohio.
We were so surprised at all of the changes that were being made there since last year. I loved this old wagon all dressed up with corn stalks, hay bales, pumpkins and pretty purple Asters in front of the Bob Evans old homestead.
They had added bigger tents this year to house all of the crafts and antiques.
Parking in the field was a little iffy because of the rain we had gotten Wednesday.
And there are always a few pumpkins around to add that Fall touch.
This year they have been reconstructing a Pioneer village on the grounds. Which is going to a wonderful addition to the Farm.
The village is being made from original log homes from some local old families.
This old school house will be a nice feature when it is finished.
If there was one thing that I would change it would be those rail steps. They were just too tall for my old short legs. Hey, I am
only 5’ 1”.
Those steps had to be made by some long legged fellow's. LOL!
The day started out cloudy and cool but the sun finally made it out and it was nice while we were there walking around. On the way home we met with high winds and rains so we lucked out.
We always like visiting the Quilt Barn when we attend.
There are always beautiful quilts on display that I ewww and ahhh over. I think they are all so pretty since I have not got the patience to quilt myself.
What can I say, my attention span is limited. LOL!
Then there are always the tents full of food that tempt us. And the smell of wood fires where large kettles of bean soup are being cooked.
There were corn mazes, farm animals, Cow milking, games and face painting for the kids to enjoy.
But I always have my eyes looking to spot those flowers no matter where I am. It is the gardener in us.
Everyone have a wonderful weekend and
Happy Gardening,
Lona

What a fun-filled country afternoon! I've never been to the Bob Evans farm, but I sure do enjoy Bob Evans sausage on Saturday morning. The quilt barn looks like a grand place to visit. I hope you have a warm and sunny weekend.
I love the rural setting! No big quilt show for me this weekend, but there's a fall festival in the old ranchhouse by us...so maybe I'll have some fun browsing crafts and quilts there instead!
nice fun! hey your header photos are awesome.
Oh my goodness. I wish I had known you were going to be there. My two crazy aunts have two booths. They put fabric on the back of clear glass plates. They are so funny! I love the farm but haven't been in years. The last time we were there was when our son was around four (and he got lost in the sea of people)and he is 28 now. Think it is time for a return trip. Thanks for sharing you thoughts and pics.
Jeg kom lige forbi din blog.
Hvor har du en smuk forside på din blog.
Gode billeder.
Tak for rundvisningen.
So many lovely choices. I love the quilts! Have fun!
Lona, this festival looked to be so much fun. And quilts, I too admire them so much but lack the talent and patience to construct one.
Rebuilding all the old houses and buildings is a wonderful idea, we here in America tend to tear everything down instead of preserving our heritage for future generations. I would love to visit the place someday!
Sounds like a fun time was had by all. The log cabins are beautiful.
Just beautiful...looks so charming...what a great place for an autumn visit!
Love the photos. Really nice what they are doing there. You sure do a lot of festivals. Nice way to spend a day.

Splendid Little Stars
It looks like it's about 2 1/2 hours away out Rt. 32. would be a fun drive, I think.
Beautiful farm you were able to visit. I've not heard of the Bob Evans Farm but how nice to be able to visit there.
What a great place to spend a fall day. That black mulch really caught my eye. I don't usually like mulch, but I like that one. I have never noticed black mulch before.
Love the purple asters and the quilts!
