I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. It was a windy here yesterday but it was just beautiful warm, sunny day. I was outdoors all day playing around and doing chores in the garden.
This morning it was 66 degrees when I got up and around. I headed outside to walk around the garden looking at the work I had done yesterday (and still have to do) and how the garden was fairing. The flowers were just beginning to be touched by the rays of sun and they looked so lovely with the touches of shadows giving way to the bright sunlight.
Even “ Lazy Gnome” was laying about taking in the morning rays.
The Bluebells were swaying on the morning gentle breezes.
The tulips looked translucent with the sunlight filtering through the petals.
The Lilac blooms sparkled and the new leaves unfurling on the big Crimson Maple tree looked even brighter.
The pansies were dancing in the window boxes and were covered with a dusting of pollen from all of the pine trees around here in the hills, but the spider did not seem to mind as it set upon the bloom keeping watch.
The sunlight even makes its way into the Shade garden bed in the mornings to touch the heuchera’s and columbines. I think the Fairy needs sunglasses in the morning. LOL!
And of course I had to check on the Wisteria blooms again and how they looked in the morning sunlight.
It is morning’s like this when morning sunrises start to shine upon the flowerbeds and the blooms that peace enters into your soul and troubles seem to disappear. I thank God for mornings like these.
The seedlings and plants were moved out to the small greenhouse yesterday to start hardening off.
I got so many little things accomplished yesterday and even a touch of the first of many sunburn’s yet to come.
A lot of time was spent on widening this long flowerbed and cutting and hauling wagon loads of sod off to the woods. But the hard part is done and now I can start edging it out and getting it ready for planting more flowers. Maybe I just made more room for future rose bushes and for some more annuals this year.
It is now clouding up and some rains will be moving in so I am glad I got my walk about in the garden this morning.

Pretty Lona. Love the look of a cleaned out walkway that soon will be overflowing with plants. How is that greenhouse working out for you? I was thinking of purchasing something like that. The pollen sure looks familiar with the little spider looking on. Rain is here for a day or so but we really need it. I've been watering for at least a week everyday.

The wind yesterday then rain wrecked our garden much damage to the white Pope rose and the penoys are heads down and the iris are in bad shape. To look on the bright side The sun is out today and we just got the tail end of that deadly storm no tornado. And my blue Louisiana Iris are about to bloom.

I too have to get rid of some sod from the front so I know what you went through with that .. I expect a big ouch factor with it .. but it is going to be SO worth it for the little plan that I have : )
I adore your little fairy & Gnome folk .. they are so sweet and your plants are gorgeous ! ahead of mine but once I start to water things (dry winds whipping away here and no snow that melted into the ground before hand .. no rain as so many times predicted ) So ? it will be me and the hose make friends again!! haha

Thanks for the tour...your garden is way ahead of mine, no real perennials blooming yet. I've been cleaning up mostly. It is 90 degrees today and a little too hot!

Just wish our temperatures would get up again... I'm bored of these chilly days now and like the mild temperatures back that we had before.
I love walks like that and look forward to them especially at the weekends. I loved the light radiating through those purple tulips Lona. Our lilacs are still not reading to bloom for another few weeks.
Everything looks wonderful, Lona. The Vinca blossom I have on my blog looks exactly like yours. I like that wine-purple color. I'm glad you were able to get all that sod removed. Looks like a back-breaking job. Now the fun begins!
Great tour Lona, lots of lovlies! That little greenhouse is great. I have a stand like this with lights, would be great if I had a cover for it like yours.

Love the little ceramic toadstool. Expanding the garden bed, while hard work, will be great!! You will have lots more room for garden.
It looks so beautiful there! What a nice area to walk around and see all those flowers. I think your new bed will be a great place for more roses! My white Bleeding Heart is blooming too :)

Isn't the garden just so peaceful early in the morning. I am praying for rain as I am having to water already. Have radishs and onions doing well in the veggie garden. Did you make or purchase the little greenhouse?

Hi Lona, i love your plants and flowers but most especially that very blue pansy. I have special attachments for pansies, and find them very very beautiful, unfortunately they are temperate clime plants. How i wish we have your sunny and warm conditions coz we are now 34-35C and mounting, coupled with a very high humidity, that is so intolerable even at 8am. It is difficult to be outside the building.
Lona, what a nice photo of pansy and spider! I've got the same little greenhouse, here is +5C (42F) only and I put it into the big greenhouse.
Beautiful! Our wisteria is just setting some buds now so I hope we don't receive late frosts. Love your mushrooms, I need to put mine out.

66 degrees when you got up?? Wow ~ that's summer lows here (if they even stay that high.) We would have been lucky to have that for our high temp today but I heard it's going to be in the upper 70s & 80's over the weekend! Can't wait.
Your garden looks awesome. Definitely a bit ahead of here but good to see what's ahead for me.
Congrats on the new bed. I can relate to the hard work but it will be worth it for sure! :-)
