I want to thank everyone for the many wonderful Birthday wishes. As the saying goes I am almost “older than dirt” now.
Where do the years go anyway? I cannot complain since I have had many blessings in my 63 years.
The nice warm weather has disappeared and we have reverted back to March weather here in the hills. After a rainy Saturday it is has become very cool and windy and parts of Pennsylvania is getting records snows today so I guess we here in Ohio can put up with the winds and cool weather.
Friday was still a lovely day and I got to play around with some fairies and started making a Fairy Garden to put into the Shade Garden in front.
I found a big container that had an antique or older feel to it at Lowes to build it in.
The house, sign and birdbath were purchased last fall at the Waynesville’s Sauerkraut Festival. Then over the winter I started collecting pieces to add to it such as the the two fairies, a bench, a birdfeeder, trellis and a fence.
Sheets of moss taken from the yard were added for their yard. I left room in the back to add plants. I have on order a Mouse Ears Hosta and a Rebecca Viola to add in behind the two fenced areas.
I would love to have one of those stone houses for it but they are a little out of my price range. I have even thought about taking a birdhouse and adding stones to it to make a house but I am not certain I have the talent or patience to tackle that job. LOL!
I am still deciding whether to add a stone walkway and pond or just leave it as is. I am certain that I will be tweaking it out and adding to it over time.
Everyone have a wonderful week and…
Happy Gardening,
Lona

A belated happy birthday!
Our weather has turned quite breezy and chilly here in North Florida as well. Oh well. I love your Fairy garden. I wonder if you could by one of those small wood birdhouses from the craft store and add your own rocks/stone/beads to it. Or they have those tiny, tiny terra cotta pots too.....
Oh Lona, I missed your birthday. Well, a happy belated one my blogging friend.I really enjoyed this post...so cute.

Lona, Happy, Happy Birthday! Steve and I both wish you a wonderful year. ;) I love the photo collage at the top of your blog - I've never been much of a fan of yellow flowers... I think you have now made me a convert!
And your little fairy garden is to die for. I'm sure the fairies will take very good care of your garden this summer!
Very cute! I'll bet kids love it!
I have never seen a fairy garden in a container. It looks like a fun project. I bet you could make the stone covered birdhouse!
Your little garden is lovely. I think a little path would be cute. Glad you had fun making a new home for the faries.
Lona girl I am so glad yo0u enjoyed your birthday !
This fairy garden is amazing girl!
I have never seen one as detailed as yours .. you are having a blast playing with it I can tell .. and I so love your use of the moss!
hey I think you could do a little stone house no problem .. get a cheap birdhouse like you said and just glue the stones on and you would have a perfect stone fairy home : )
I love those ceramic mushrooms all around .. the whole concept is so darn sweet ! Who would smile when they see it : )

The cool thing is that you can add and take away anytime you see something new or decide you don't like something... Something tells me you'll find a stone house in time. Sorry about the crappy weather. Finally the weather is decent here. I hope you don't get any of Pennsylvania's snow. And enjoy being 63 years young!
Hi Lona, Happy Birthday!! I am happy to see the wonderful home you have made for the fairies. So cute. We are getting snow tonight:(
What a fantastic idea. I love old cement pots too and the green stuff that grows on them. Try thrift shops for tiny additions to the display. Ours always has countless little figures which would be perfect. Sometimes we get very elaborate pottery houses which look rather magical. Try gluing on shells or seeds to an old bird house, even sheets of bark, maybe fancy buttons or faux precious stones. Cheers Lori
So cute! Happy belated birthday!
Your fairy garden is so cute!
You asked about the baptisia -- I've never had to stake it. It stands up on its own very well.
My granddaughters have a fairy garden. I'm afraid it would be addictive. Yours is well done delightful. Like your blog.
Hi Lona, Belated happy birthday! I have always wanted a fairy garden too. What a lovely one you have created. You have thought of everything; even a little bench for them to sit on while they rest and admire their garden. The hosta and viola will look charming behind their little fence.
ADORABLE!!! And a belated Happy Birthday...They come around a lot faster than they used to:(
Now girl! You are still a spring chicken! No old as dirt there. I have seen old as dirt and you aren't it. lol. Your little fairy garden is so cute. What a great idea. Happy belated birthday by the way. Blessings to you.
Debbie
