Friday in the Garden

We have had some lovely sunny weather this week and I have been enjoying it despite the shorter daylight hours. The two inch snow we got from Sandy is now forgotten with the temperatures in the fifties and lower sixties.

The rest of the leaves were raked and mulched up in the yard after the storm and rain we had. Finally most of the last of the oak leaves are shredded up. Of course they will blow in from the woods all winter long with the winds and will manage to land upon my front porch or in the small pond.

The last roses of the season.

Yesterday the puppy and I had a good walk  to Rose Lake and we both enjoyed and needed the exercise.

I think this is the first Fall I have not planted some last minute plants that were on sale or put in any bulbs for spring.
I found myself picking them up and then putting them back this year.

So now I am just enjoying the nice weather while it lasts and getting out while I can before it all turns nasty.

And finally there is the sweet and peaceful sound of silence from all of the political commercials and phone calls.
Now bring on the Christmas Carols. NoteNote

Happy Gardening,

Lona

Lona, it's very fine you have warm weather and can spend time out walking in the peace and silents.
I love the picture of white viola, lovely!

I hear ya with that peaceful sound of no politicians making us crazy. And, lucky you! Enjoying the warmth of a late autumn. It was gorgeous here, yesterday. Snowing buckets today. I guess it's time... Lovely pics, Lona.

So love that Pink Muhly Grass!
Didn't know you got snow from the storm. We only had rain and LOTS of wind.

I also am glad for an end to the political ads, though I suspect they will catch their breath and start early all over again for the next round of elections.

Love the photo of the piknk muhly grass! There is always something I can do in the garden, but I like to rest a bit for the next couple of months. Strolling in the garden is something I continue year round. What's a garden if we don't take time to enjoy it?

lol on the Christmas carols! One of our local radio stations is already playing non-stop Christmas music! Yesterday (when it was snowing) I really enjoyed it. :)
I can't believe you didn't plant any bulbs! Some year I'm going to follow suit tho & not have the pressure of getting them in the ground before bad weather.
I like that you put your pink header back up too!

They've got a lotta nerve posting ads on your blog, how do they get away with that!? Anyway, you're flower "portraits" always bring a bit of joy to one's day, thank you!

The snow is gone and you're having temps in the high 50s to low 60s? How wonderful! I love your few remaining blossoms. I sure wish I could say all my leaves were raked up. LOL. Most of them are still on the trees. Again, thank you for your encouragement in my process to get published. You are a jewel. Hugs.

Very pretty Lona. Love the grass, it's so delicate and pretty. Of course I love the Rose. I'd still love to add a few more but after all the changes I've made, I need to wait a couple years to see how things fill out and if I have any room left. Have a nice weekend.
