This picture pretty well sums up what the weekend was like here in the Hocking Hills and what we will all be seeing throughout the first of this week.
Yeah, raining cats and dogs.
There may be a few snow showers as a change of pace thrown in as the temperatures start dropping later.
I am thankful it has not all been snow and that the water levels here that were really in need of replenishing are being met.
I miss my garden and the flowers already and it is only December.
The few house plants are really not meeting my needs for color and beauty right now on a rainy day so I dig through the flower files and remember the blooms of the summer past.
Rain in the summer is taken in stride because it just adds to help the flowers and the gardens.
And it does have a way of making the flower blooms look like jewels when the sun does come back out with the clearing skies and hits the drops on the petals.
It has a way of washing all the dust away and making dropping blooms come back to life. Sometimes we like the flowers need to be refreshed by washing out some of the clutter and soiled past out of our lives and start each day as a new beginning.
And like new blooms unfurling every morning we need to start each day with the thought that this is going to be a good day and I will be happy in it.
As these blooms of summer are fleeting and here for just moments of time so are our lives and and the lives of those around us so we should take each new day with thankfulness.
At this time of the year we get caught up in the decorating, the presents, and so many other chores where we are getting ourselves stressed out physically as well as financially and we forget the real purpose of this time and season.
This is the season to celebrate the most unselfish act and love that was ever given for and to us.
So slow down, stress less, give less materially, and give more of what we all have and can give freely…. love to others.

Garden withdrawal...me too. I wish I could take a nap like my flowers do.
I like the picture of raining cats and dogs and I know what you mean about missing floral colors. One thing I do is I have two brilliant colored cyclamens on my kitchen window sill and they light up the room when the sun hits them, all day.
Lona, you're right. This season we all remember to give our love to other people. And to nature, flowers, because they give us their beauty.

I miss my garden too. I just can't get excited about indoor plants or poinsettias. They're such a poor substitute for the garden's occupants. Oh well... Have a great week.

It has been so dreary the last week or so here in Ohio, almost dark during the day so it's not been a time to enjoy anything outdoors. Nice choice of photos from your summer blooms.

We sure needed that rain, didn't we? As for the summer flower pictures above, sweetly covered in rain drops? I think those are staged! We didn't get any rain this summer!
Lona girl how are you ! I am sorry it has been so long since I have visited you .. things have happened in my life that have been intensely sad.
Looking at your beautiful flowers has been wonderful ... and I did giggle at the dogs and cats picture ... we really haven't had rain here to speak of .. although freezing rain to rain is forecasted.
