A Bit of Hope

I hope everyone had a great weekend.
We went from very cold and snow to ice and rain.
Typical Ohio weather.

The Heritage Hellebores in the garden are  starting to get buds and that is always exciting to see in the middle of winter.
The poor buds will take a beating before they get to open here.
But at this point at least I know the garden is there and ready to get growing again as much as I am yearning to see it happen.
Everyone have a wonderful week and…..

Happy Gardening,

Lona

Ah...it's always heartening to see those first signs of spring, isn't it!

Hi Lona, I too have hellebores up, they arrived just after Christmas and have come to a halt with all the cold weather we received. Now they are covered in snow again. I tell myself spring is just around the corner, but it not really. Hope you enjoyed your day. Blessings, Jen

Sounds like the same lousy weather as here:(
I think I saw a bud on one of my hellebores too. Need to check it out as soon as the weather improves a little.

Lona, your garden will be growing, of course! When I see mine one under the half meter of snow I know the same.

I don't have any Hellebores. I love them though, they are such pretty things.

You have the same kind of weather like we have in The Netherlands: last week snow, heavy frost and Sunday temp. was + 6 degr.C. again and rain, rain, rain. All Hellebores were flat on the soil and see now, they stand up again. Looking forward to spring now. So exciting to see the buds appear!

Hi Lona, I have one hellebore.....can you believe, just one?? I really want to plant more but just haven't gotten around to it. We were at 49 degrees today, but they've been yelling about the Winter Storm headed our way for Wednesday so we'll see if the hype was worth it or not. We'll probably end up with drizzle, lol.

Oh winter why do you torment us so!

Love the hellebore and can't wait to see the flowers.

Isn't this weather just crazy? Up down and all around. I've been wondering about my hellebores, and maybe if it ever stops raining I'll go out there and see! I know we need rain, but the gloom is starting to get to me. And Friday? Back to the deep freeze!
