The garden is really starting to come alive now even with a couple of frosty mornings here in the hills. I can hardly wait until we get more than two days a week of nice weather this spring. LOL!
Along a section of the front walkway white Iberis Candytuft is starting to bloom.
The Heuchera or Coral Bells are really starting to leaf out and I think this “Georgia Peach” is my favorite.
Out on the edge of the woodland bed Magnolia “Jane” is blooming away.
She is still a small bush and I cannot wait until she is big, bold and beautiful.
The peach tree blossoms have come and gone much to fast this spring. I love seeing the fruit trees in bloom in the spring.
There are a few tulips blooming around the house but I need to remember to plant a whole lot more of the perennial types this fall because so many of the cute ones that I planted are just leaves this year. There are so many lovely, fancy types to buy now but a waste of money when they only bloom up to two years.
The hyacinths are long gone now. I found three blooming in the woodland bed which was a surprise since I never planted any there.
Do squirrels plant bulbs? LOL!
The Ligularia in the Woodland bed are leafing out. I love them for the foliage with their red stems and bronze leaves.
Along the far side of the garage banking the Vinca Minor is starting to bloom. It is very invasive and has taken over this whole side of the garage and helps to keep the bank from washing away.
I have this Creeping Phlox subulata in several places in the flower beds. The butterflies and bees love it.
There are so many plants that are starting to grow now and this makes me one happy gardener to see the flower beds coming alive again. This “Huskers Red” Penstemon has lovely foliage and looks pretty even after the future blooms are gone.

It is such fun to see the new growth of our plants again. I have the same problem with my tulips after two years they don't give flowers anymore and I don 't like to buy every year new bulbs. They like sandy soil and you have to dig up the bulbs in summer to plant them on another spot again. Lots of extra work to keep flowering tulips.
You have a lovely selection of plants coming in to fruition - your blossom is lovely - what would a garden be without it.
How wonderful to see you garden waking up at long last! Of course I don't get to see that around here, as we don't really have big seasonal changes like you do there.
Love that Creeping Phlox and "Jane" is beautiful! What a great surprise to find Hyacinths popping up in the woodland bed. That is a bonus!
I love your Jane magnolia! And the peach blooms are so lovely. What a delicate, beautiful color. I rarely buy tulip bulbs just because they don't seem to have much value. I love them, but I'd rather buy something that returns every year.
Blossoms on trees so say spring. You have a lot coming up too. I am enjoying the same color of creeping phlox as you. The cold and snow didn't phase it.
Very pretty and lots of blooming going on for you Lona. We are so far behind this year. I look everyday and can't believe it's almost May without a little fuller garden.

We have had several hard frosts this weeks and I'm hoping my hostas are all okay. This morning is gorgeous but I have to work this afternoon so I don't even want to start anything.

It has been quite a while since I've visited my favorite bloggers, and I knew my visit would be filled with everything warm and beautiful here.
The weather has indeed been rather strange throughout the states this year. Our winter did not seem to be as long, but spring is finally here.
Just yesterday I was thinking that I wanted to plant more tulips and spring flowers this fall_ now you've convinced me with your lovely photos.

Hmm, you remind me that I think my Husker Red gave up the ghost. I just planted some Candytuft, not sure what to expect. Like giant alyssum, right? Worked and worked out there today, it was wonderful and worth the backache!
A squirrel planted your hyacinths or some offsets got picked up with something else and tossed? Either way it was a fun surprise.
A garden can't have too much Iberis.

Your garden is certainly coming to life Lona. I am very fond of Candytuft and think that it is an underused groundcover. Interesting that you discovered hyacinths were none were planted. I guess squirrels are gardeners too!

Yes, spring has arrived in your garden!! I really like Candytuft -- warming to it each year as it increases in size.
Your 'Jane' will be big in no time. Mine is going into her third year and is about six feet tall now.

Your plants are not half coming away nicely. The Tulips, I just treat as annuals, they are very inexpensive here in the UK.
I love the peach blossoms. I planted some creeping phlox around the gas tank...maybe it will help it
It's a gardeners joy to see spring come and wake up our gardens. So glad yours are waking up. Love the Heuchera. Mine were eat up by something last year. Great looking vinca on the side of the garage. I love it in mass like that. I wish Tulips would grow here. They line the shelves here but they don't last. Hope you have a nice day.

I don't even know if I'd get to see them this year anyway tho because so many froze. A few later blooming ones are almost to blooming now but it's supposed to be 21 tonight so I might lose those too. It's been a horrible spring here, that's all I can say....

Warm temperature? These beautiful flowers send cool air LOL... We can't grow any of these flowers here Lona. I don't think they can even sprout hehe... Anyway, I like the Pulsatilla “Red Clock” Pasque Flower the most.
