Verbena From Spring to Frost

From Spring to Fall Verbena is a essential in my
garden.
It blooms all season with little fuss in containers, window boxes,
and hanging baskets. Dead heading the spent flowers keeps
it branching and filled with blooms.

In fact it does not like to be pampered too much with over
fertilizing and watering and love direct sun.
Here in my zone 5/6 they are an annual so they can be grown
from seed or brought in when the weather turns cold to hold
them through the winter.
I have already sown some seeds to start some growing for planting
time this Spring.

I'm with you, I love verbena. One of the best plants for arching over the side of a container or low wall, and as you pointed out, not too fussy.

I really like verbena too. I've actually had one survive the winter before. Some of them have a very nice scent as well.
What is that pink flower in front of the coneflower? Is it some type of mum? Those pinks all look so pretty together.

Thanks for sharing some of summer's beauty with us. I miss it so! I'm trying to enjoy the fact that at least the snow is gone, but it is so very drab. What are those cute little poofy pink coneflower things in the last shot?

This is another plant I've only grown once and loved- I think I need to grow it again. In my zone 8 it should do really well. I finally found Lantana seed the other day; yet another plant I was searching for. I can't wait until they get here!

I always thought about adding Verbena to my garden, but never did. I look at your pictures and want it again!

Robin & Catherine: the pink flower in front of the coneflower is another Echinacea called "Razz- Matazz" I just love it and if you dead head them they will get more blooms.

Tatyana: They are so handy in your containers and beds and so many brilliant colors. Thanks for dropping by.

Tessa: yes, it would work as a perennial for your zone. I love Lantana and keep on over winter here for next spring.

Susan: I saw some deep Magenta or Burgundy and white ones in a womans flower box that I loved but have never been able to find them. She must have gotten seeds from somewhere. Have you seen them?

Deb: the pink daisies are echinacea.

Aerie-el; Just loved the pictures of the Eagle!

Verbenas are among my favorites, too. It's so nice to see all of your treasured photos, helps to get me through the rest of this cold season! Due to my neck and back issues, my gardens aren't looking so hot anymore, but I can always visit you!
