The Sun Came Out & So Did The Phlox

Thank heaven the sun finally came out after four days
of rain and then cool gloom. It was good for the grass seed
that was planted in the back yard so though I was not happy
with it the flowers and trees are drinking it up.
It warmed up nicely today so I had to run out and check
all of the flower beds and get some new pictures of what
was growing and blooming now.
The ground phlox is starting to get pretty now with all
of its tiny blooms and the bees are coming to it so they are
happy to see the sun and blooms also.
I have two colors of ground phlox around the house in areas
that are hard to grow anything which includes a section along
one side of the garage.

I love that type of phlox. It looks so pretty all in bloom, like a carpet of lavender. Glad you were able to get outside today. It's hard to see that much rain when you just want to be outside.

Beautiful pictures! My ground phlox is finished blooming for this year. Now I am looking forward to the next phlox that will bloom in a month or two(-:

Lona~~ The phlox are beautiful. You must be doing something right. Twice I've tried to grow it and both times it turned over and died. It might be our hot, dry summers. No matter. I'll just admire your beautiful patch. :)

Ah - your phlox is about a week ahead of mine! But we have good proper rain today and 3 days of sun forecast, so I think I'll be where you are (so to speak) soon. Oh it's so exciting!

Greetings from Wayne County. I think you are a big ahead of us. I'm loving the sunny weather. The spring beauty was opening in our woods yesterday.
I love your music playlist. I didn't notice that before. Very cool.

I just adore phlox. And remember when I first discovered it at a garden centre. How amazingly colorful and lush. Those beautiful shades of periwinkle blue, and lilac.

Great photos.

Aren't you glad that the sun finally came out? Tomorrow I have to go to work at 2, so I'll certainly be gardening until then!

Oooh... nice blog! And I love your phlox photos--it looks like you must be a couple of weeks ahead of us, because we won't see phlox blooms here for a while yet. :)

The tulips that I showed photos of are the species tulips (I don't believe that there are any truly native tulips, but I could be wrong there?) that come back and multiply year after year. They're shorter, though, and mostly bloom in reds... not all of the pretty shades of your tulips in your most recent posts!

I tried, unsuccessfully, to grow phlox a few years ago. I always enjoy seeing it the gardens of others, including yours! Our wild phlox is in bloom, though, so that is something. Get ready for the warm-up that's coming this weekend!
