Spectacular Sunday

What a spectacular Sunday morning and I believe the
warm weather is back. The rain has passed us by for a few
days and the garden is loving the sunshine and so am I.
Back out in the garden beds over the weekend and also
taking a few photos.

The Roses are just beautiful now and the Japanese
beetles have stayed away from them. I have been noticing
that I hardly see any honey bees on the flowers so the
pollination is being left to other insects. I am worried
about the honey bee situation unless it is just that they are
not around my home.

New Dawn Roses are just blooming now by leaps and
bounds. I wish it would bloom all summer. I confess
I do not have much patience for plants that do not bloom
over a long period, that is why I moved New Dawn to the
shed. She does not seem to mind taking a back seat to the
other roses though.

Lolypop Lilies are putting on a show.

Happy Gardening Everyone!

I have seen a lot of bees...but they seem to be dying in large numbers...It makes me wonder who is spraying them....your lily is beautiful as are all your flowers!

I love seeing the different roses everyone grows. I hope the beetles stay away. I do notice honey bees in our gardens, but mostly it's the bumble bees I see in the flowers.
I LOVE the lollipop lilies, I need to find some for my garden.

Hi Lona~~ I could almost whiff the scent of rose while gazing at your New Dawn photos. Lovely. And those lilies!! I take it they're Asiatics? And of course, ferns are always welcome in my garden.

Glad to hear the sun is shining and beetles are on leave but hope the honeybees return. They might all be here in Oregon, bumblebees too. They are such amazing creatures.

Beautiful rose pictures! I have heard of problems with honey bees in many places so I'm afraid it's probably not only around your home. We see a lot of bees but I know little about them - I suspect they may be other types of bee. I think single roses may be a better bet for observing pollination - easier to see and a more directly natural shape.

Great pictures as usual.I have never grown roses but have one area that might be suitable (lot of sun) any suggestions? Have you been to Rhoades farm market and greenhouse in Circleville? They sent me a $5.00 gift certificate for my birthday. Thought that was pretty nice of them. Have a great day..
