Uncle ! Uncle!

Alright I admit it I am quite over this whole snow
thing that happens every winter. There is  enough out
there now to protect all of the plants beneath it and after
the first pretty snow of the winter the joy of seeing further
snow events just goes flying out the window somehow.

At times Friday afternoon it was snowing so hard I could
not see my daughters house across the field.
I know you are over there somewhere Shelly!

The tree limbs are all bowed down from the heavy
snow making white umbrellas in the back yard.

Good for making giant snowmen…..

but not for sitting in the garden.

Not fit out for man nor birds.

Tree trunks are covered from the slanting wet snow
making them all covered in white

along with everything else in the woods.

It did make plenty of fresh water for the birds.

Alright sure it is pristine, sparkling and a beautiful display ….

But a person can stand only so much beauty. Uncle!

Happy Snow Day!  LOL!

Gorgeous while it's fresh, isn't it! Can't fight it so might as well scrutinize seed catalogs and dream about springtime's first flowers. Sending warm and cozy thoughts from Meadowsweet Cottage!

Pogonip: I guess it is easier to be content and just go with the flow of things. Planning garden beds is a great pastime.

LOL. Well, as long as you're all safe, a little beauty won't hurt you for a day or two, right? (and if it's any comfort...it's snowing here, too.)

Beautiful snow pictures. It's a good thing snow is so pretty or it could not get away with being so messy. :)

Your photos are all beautiful.... kind of makes me want snow :/
The cardinal photo is wonderful!

Hi Lona,

I feel your pain, and now seeing the amount of snow you're getting over there it really does put everything we went through a couple of weeks ago into perspective.

For me it's the chaos it causes, it is beautiful, that's for sure and at one point I forgot what grass looked like.

I hope it melts quickly for you, and you can get back to looking for Spring!

I know the cold, wet snow is probably driving you nuts....but it is absolutely beautiful!

Wow it sure is pretty but I guess it isn't to fun getting around in it(-: The bird looks so pretty sitting there on the white branch!

I know how you feel Lona, it gets tiresome after a real short time. Even last year with all of our snow we didn't keep it as long as you do there and I was tired of it. I got real sick of the white and the below 0temps living in Fairbanks, Alaska though.
But your brrrrrrr pictures sure are pretty. Guess that's about all it's good for. Hang in there spring IS coming!!!

I just can't take it anymore, the snow has lost all of it's appeal to me now (not that your pictures aren't gorgeous). Hope spring is here soon. :)

That cardinal is just beautiful with all that pristine white snow around him. Love all your snow pics, even though I am SICK of snow here. We are getting MORE right now.

Lona~~ You are right in the thick of this record snowfall aren't you? I've heard that another storm is coming this week. Not what you wanted to hear is it?

I guess the consolation is that your plant children are, as you said protected beneath the snow, But enough already.

If it's any consolation, the photos are dazzling. Your cardinal visitor looks like he'd prefer to come indoors for some hot cocoa.

As soon as I saw the title of the post I knew what it would be about :) It's easy for me to tell you how pretty it looks on the trees, but I know you're ready to see your garden again.

It looks like a marvelous day for a snowshoe. :) I'll bet the cardinal would keep you company!

We're in this one together, Lona;-) Unusual for our area, it does provide eye candy in a 'different' sort of way--but I'm with you, enough is enough! We're bracing for the next one...possibly another foot on top of the several we have. I'm concerned my azalea bushes may be breaking under the pressure of the heaviness, and I noticed one of my holly trees has snapped in half. Spring cannot come soon enough...I'm saying Uncle now, too;-)

These pictures are wonderful for people like me living in the Deep South that never get to see such sights in person! I know in time it gets old and the ugly of the dirt splatter roads is an awful sight as well. I do recall those days of living in Colorado and also Germany with the white stuff…

Your amaryllis does look a bit confused. I had one do a similar thing but only after I planted her in the yard. Don’t think she liked that as much as being babied inside the house…

Raindrops on plants are so neat. I like the way they mirror the plants…

uncle... but look at all the beautiful photos you took. ;)

I agree, enough. I can't help thinking how beautiful it is but even that is getting old.

Beautiful photo of the cardinal!

Wow, look at all that snow! Beautiful! Now, I hope it melts safely so as not to cause flooding or wet basements. Spring, please come soon!

Lona, you live in what I think is the most beautiful part of our state and these photos just confirm that for me. I would love to live there. This kind of snow makes for beautiful scenes and you've captured so many of them here. Thanks for sharing, even though I know you're tired of the snow!
