Ohio Gardener Magazine

I received the first edition of the new “Ohio Gardener
magazine last week and was well pleased with the
magazine.

I had to stop everything to look through it real fast.
I always do that with gardening magazines to see
what is in them then I go back and start reading
through them. I guess I am too anxious to
look at  all the articles and pictures first. LOL!

I have to say it is a was a very informative and interesting
read. What I really liked about the magazine also was
that it is printed on heavy paper and the pictures in the magazine are beautiful. I am going to enjoy reading this
local catalog on gardening.
Does your state have a Gardeners magazine?

I am going to set up my lights up this week
so I can start on preparing some of the seeds
for germination. I want to start some of my
flowers early so they will be bigger when I
set them out into containers and the window
boxes this spring. I will gradually start others
to add to them over the next two months.

I am still waiting on some of my seeds to arrive
but they should be here this week.
I also could not resist picking up some Pacific
Giant Delphinium, Royal Carpet Alyssum and
Rose Queen Cleome seeds at the local Dollar General
store today. They also had some seed starting
mix so I grabbed some of that also.
So I am all set to dig in and get my hands dirty.

Dear Lona, The new magazine you feature here does indeed look most interesting and well produced. It is always good to have high quality garden writing and is particularly useful when it is based locally.

Your seed activities look to be extensive this year. I cannot imagine where you will be able to house them all before they can be planted out!

I really should check to see if Florida has a gardening magazine. I love the glove! I received seeds from you today...honestly brought a tear of joy to my eye...thank you so very much Lona. I don't know anything about planting dahlia seeds, I am so excited to give it a go though...

No magazine, I did sign up for the email newsletter though. Thanks!

A cheery post for a very cold day (at least it's bitterly cold here! ) We don't have provincial magazines, at least not here in Atlantic Canada--too small a population base, too high a cost. But we have some good publications like Garden Making, which I like very much.

We have a magazine similar, called Ontario Gardener. Love the boots filled flowers.

Lona, we do have a local magazine called Chicagoland Gardening. I do buy it every so often. I really like Fine Gardening and have cut down on all the gardening magazines I used to buy at the grocery store.

Another week or so and I am ready to use those plant lights.

What a good magazine! Love the fact that it is location specific. We don't have these kind of mag yet. I wish we have one here. I hope you will get lots of fantastic ideas, inspirations and tips for your garden. Btw, those plastic boots look really whimsy ;-)

Lona, there's nothing like a good gardening magazine to make you want to get started with seeds! Thanks, too, for the state-by-state link.

Love those rainboots! Sounds like you're busy, busy, busy with spring plans. We've had a Florida gardening magazine out for a few years, but I stopped picking up magazines when I discovered all of the great blogs to read. Actually, I kind of miss reading them, but it is saving me a lot of money. I used to buy three or four a month.

Hi Lona, We do have a local gardening magazine, but it is a bit amateurish and so I like the national magazine better ( we have only one national gardening magazine in Canada). It would be nice to have a local magazine as nice as the one that you show in your post. Good luck with the seeds. Jennifer
P.S. The white tulips are lovely!

Looks like a great magazine. I don't think there is one for our state yet :(
I do the same thing when I get the mail if there is a magazine. I start flipping through it right away before I even get back to my house.

That looks like a great magazine...and I am addicted to gardening mags! Sadly, Oregon doesn't seem to have a state gardening mag, although there is Pacific Northwest Horticulture...but it's not exactly a fun (or aspirational) read.

I don't garden as much as you do, but when I visit you I wish I did!
I can almost hear the joy in your heart when you speak of it! :) It will be Spring soon...I look forward to your blog and to see what you do in your yard!
Hugs,
Mona
