I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.
This month seems to be going by so fast and April is living up to its description as a month of showers.
The garden plants and trees are loving all of the rain and so many things are starting to grow now.
The rose bushes are looking good and leafing out all over.
I planted two new ones over the weekend which I had purchased from Wayside Gardens.

Bonica a clear pink Modern Bush Rose.
I have tried to get the pink Bonica for two years now and by the time that I ordered it they were sold out. This year I ordered really early and I am so glad to add it to finally be adding it to the Rose Garden.
The Iberis sempervirens white Candytuft that was grown from seed two years ago is finally getting blooms for the first time this Spring. I have it lining a section of the front walkway so I am glad to see it getting blooms.
I found some native Cutleaved Toothwort growing in the woods along the Woodland bed. It has such pretty pink blooms. I will have to thank the birds or the wind for them.
I want to watch when it goes to seed to see about getting some to grow closer to the Woodland bed.
Some more pink daffodils are now blooming. I really like the ruffled bloom on this one.
This daffodil was suppose to be pink also but it is a pretty split trumpeted yellow instead.
I only have five Grape Hyacinths growing. Such tiny little blue blooms.
The ground Phlox is looking prettier each day now with more blooms opening.
The pulsatilla vulgaris aka Pasque Flower “Red Clock” is now opening.
I have two colors of Periwinkle or Creeping Myrtle now blooming on the garage banking.
And an array of some very wild colored tulips of which some I am not thrilled about. I was not expecting that the Color Magic tulips I planted would be mostly orange and yellow in color.
The trees in the woods and around are starting to put on tiny leaves and the Peach Blossoms are so pretty.

Lona, just taking a noon lunch break and thought I'd stop in. So glad I did! Your flowers are so pretty. I have grown Bonica for years, it is one of my favorite roses for fragrance and flower form. We're in for a winter storm the next two days, it's all the weather people can yak about...more snow. I'm glad someone is actually having Spring!
Oh my, I love all of your pretty blooms. It is so wonderful for me to enjoy via the web what is happening in so many gardens around the world, especially at spring time.

Your spring garden looks beautiful, I will enjoy it as I have only a few crocus in bloom. The weather has turned very cold here:( I have a Bonica rose and it is very hardy in my Z4b garden. Great choice. Take care

You have a great selection growing, but what happens to the Muscari. Less and less each year.

What pretty blooms you've got now! I love the new roses, what pretty colors. My grape hyacinths have been spreading like crazy since I planted them many years ago. I bet you'll end up with lots of them eventually.

We could do with some of your rain here, I don't actually think it's rained at all in April so far.
Really lovely. You know I have a few Hyacinths out front that bloomed normal and normal size, but I have a itsy bitsy one out back and it bloomed itsy bitsy. Not sure what that is all about.

I really can't believe April is half over already! You have lovely spring blooms in your garden. I'm glad I am not the only one with errant daffodils popping up. I seem to have Sir Winston Churchill, who I didn't expect to see, adrift in a sea of Dutch Master's here ;)
Love the pink daffodil and tulips! Bonica should bloom her head off for you, such a prolific and cheery rose.
Lona, Happy Easter! So glad to hear Bonica is now in your garden. I have seen it in bloom here and it is amazing.... Our early Spring temps have our roses in a flush of bloom this week. About 3 weeks earlier than "normal" (whatever that it...).

Spring is so incredibly gorgeous, isn't it? I generally like rain for the garden and lawn, but this is getting a bit ridiculous. Have a happy Easter! Going to see the kids and grandson, so I'm happy!

I saw the prettiest Bonica rose in a garden in northern Virginia two years ago. What a lovely shrub rose!! I think you will really enjoy it.
