Bloomin’ Tuesday

BloominTuesday_button5

I am joining in with Jean @ Ms Green Thumb with just a few blooms. The rain continues once again for us here and it has been 48 and 50 degrees the last two days. I think our temperatures are going the wrong way.
I heard a woman in the store today say she never complains about the rain because they had a drought one year and lost everything. But…..

Tools_WinJAN
I have really been wanting to try out the new Corona tools I won from Jan’s @ Thanks For Today  and the Sustainable Living Project drawing. That root cutting tool is going to get a workout I predict. Well one of us will anyway.

Aquilegia_RoseBarlow

The aquilegia Rose Nora Barlow is blooming now. They have such pretty little blooms and it is too bad they droop down. It was too wet to lay on my back in the grass to get a good picture. If it had been dry, maybe….

Ligularia_Rocket
The Ligularia are really growing so nicely.

Clematis_JosephineorFantasia_May16 The Josephine Clematis is now getting some color to its unfurling blooms.
This is the second year for this clematis and its first blooms so I think it is doing quite well.

The ‘Vintage Rose” Dianthus has so many buds and a few are now starting to open.

Since I love tall phlox two new one were planted this week
in the mud and rain.

 SpringR_2011
More and more of the Rhododendron blooms are opening.

SpringR2_2011  The lilies are growing taller and some of them in the Woodland bed are getting some buds. Also the roses are getting some buds and I will really welcome some roses  blooms soon.
With all of the wet weather we have been having one of the rose bushes leaves are turning yellow. I have been wanting to fertilize them but I am not certain whether I should wait or not. Maybe some of you can tell me if fertilizing then now when they are in a little distress will hurt or help the rose bushes?
My daughter and I are going to make a trip to the Dawes Arboretum  this Friday and I am hoping to see some blooms there.

Everyone have a wonderful week and….

Happy Gardening,
Lona

Lovely blooms. Rain is needed in our area, we had .70" yesterday and would be happy with more. Seems like it is either going to our north or south, missing us.
The seeds you sent me of the Rose Nora Barlow Columbine are really growing. The blue ones are really behind...and fewer came up, could be the place.
I think I would feed the roses, with a lot of rain the nutrients can be washed away.

The clematis is a knockout! I'm partial to ligularia and yours sure looks good.

I love that muted mauvey-pink of the clematis...so stunning...and those nodding columbine flowers...very charming! I hope your rose gets better...I'm a total noob when it comes to roses, so can't offer any advice, I'm afraid :-(

Lona, your Rhodies are fantastic. I am afraid I got a little anxious and put out some annuals that look pretty bad because of the cold.

Glub, glub, I think I'm drowning! Three days straight of rain, and I have had more than enough! But your flowers look none the worse for the wear. Last week we used the AC, this week the heat is back on. Enough! Beautiful garden dear, keep it up! Enjoy Dawes, it's lovely.

Ooh, la, la. I love your photos. 'Josephine' looks beautiful and your Ligularia, unlike mine is free of any slug damage. How'd you do that? :)

Lona, we are having the same weather and it is getting tiresome! Enough already, save the rain for later in the season when we'll need it. I hate getting a wet belly when I try to take a closeup of a hanging-down flower, lol.

The tools couldn't have gone to a better home, I'm curious to know how the (mattock? the thing that looks like a pickax) works. Love the clematis... mine were eaten by Rogue Rabbits again, I wonder if they'll even come back?

Well, the rain makes for some beautiful pictures with the drops on the blooms! Everything looks to be doing well. Love your clematis.

We are having quite abnormal weather this year aren't we. It is usually in the 90's here already but this week it has been in the 50's at night and 60's during the day. I know you are tired of the rain. A nice rain is great, but days of it makes for a hard time.

Sounds like you are in the same 'boat' we're in! Your bloom shots are as beautiful as always. I have lots of green but will be happy to see some other color! Nice to have you back for Bloomin' Tuesday! Jean
