“Lily Fest” Is This Weekend

Lily Fest 2011 opens this weekend in the Hocking Hills on Friday July 8th and runs through Sunday July 10th.
My daughter and I are making plants to attend Saturday.

LF_Lilybed_SM

It looks like the weather is going to cooperate this weekend to making it a lovely day to attend. Last year my daughter and I got drown when a thunderstorm hit.  LOL!

I think this is where I acquired my love of lilies from attending the show in 2008. I was amazed at all of the  colors and variations. Masses of lilies are planted throughout the grounds of the Bishop home.

Of course there are more plants besides lilies planted along grassy paths.

I think my favorite spot was the pond and all of the Lotus blossoms.

Garden art and whimsy are scattered in amongst the beds.

The Butterfly House will be there again this year with different displays of the life cycle of Butterflies.
The children and us bid kids too always enjoy that.

Lona,

What a great garden experience! I have also really come to love lilies for their slender elegance in the garden. They take up so little room and look so wonderful.

I love lilies...I hope you take tons of photos!!! What is that plant that looks like a pink Hogweed? It's stunning...I though it might be Angelica, but wasn't sure.

This is a wonderful time of the year when the Lilies come out, from the sturdy Road Side Day lilies, to the more delicate Rubrum Lilies. What variety of form and color. They amaze everyone. Nice post, thanks Lori from the Jarvis House Garden
