Fertilizer Friday

It is snowy and very cold outdoors this week but indoors the Begonias are trying to give me a  little color with a few blooms.

Begonias2

This time of the year I will take any bloom I can get to help me through gardening withdraw.

Begonias
While the plant lights help to get the flowers to bloom indoors the colors are not a brilliant as they would be if it they were getting some real sunlight.

But one good thing about the arrival of February is that we are starting on the downside of winter now.
For some sowing seeds indoors will get those hands dirty and the feeling of hope in green things growing and spring ahead.
I am still just trying to make up my mind on what I am going to sow for spring planting if anything at all this year. Some years I have success with sowing seeds indoors and other year such as last year it was dismal to say the least.

Are you planning to sow seeds indoors  and what are some of the plants you are going to try?
I know our girl Glenda at “Tootsie Time” will be sowing a whole greenhouse full of seeds soon now. I am joining with her for “Fertilizer Friday” to Flaunt my Little Blooms. It has been  a while since I have had anything to Flaunt. LOL!

Everyone have a wonderful weekend. It looks like we are going to have a snowy one here in Ohio.

Happy Gardening Everyone!

Yes, now that it is officially February I can really start to think about spring! I'm trying tomatoes again, but will wait awhile to start them. I need to rummage through all my seeds and see what I have.
Love your banner pictures!!

I haven't made any choices or ordered any unusual annuals yet. I am really slow this year, need to get going if I am going to start some next month.

Beautiful Begonias. If you do decide to sow some seeds indoors, I wish you the best of luck. Hopefully you won't have the problems you had last year.

That is a sweet begonia. So nice to have those flowers inside right now.
I'm not starting any seeds inside and I don't think I'll do winter sowing with the milk jugs outside this year either. I'm hoping some stuff I let go to seed last year is self seeding outside. I'll put out some seeds once it warms up.

Great post, Lona. Your Begonias look so delicate. Begonias are among my favorites. A red one volunteered in the greenhouse floor in a crack. It has made a beautiful plant since I dug it out.

I have camellia seeds sprouting now, two are up. I'll be really old before they bloom but it's fun to see the new ones.

It's time to think about veggies, too.

Nice to see your begonias blooming Lona there seems to be very little colour to see in the garden right now - hopefully it won't be too long before the spring bulbs will be doing their thing.

That is a beautiful begonia. I have one kind that is easy to grow, does very well and has a sweet scent.

Have a lovely weekend ~ FlowerLady

Lovely to see such a softcoloured beautiful Begonia in bloom at this time of year. I love sowing annuals and other special seeds inside and in the greenhouse, but I wait one or two weeks. From experience I know I'm more successful when I do not sow too early. I let you all know on my blog when and which seeds I am going to sow this year.
Wish you a happy weekend!

I'm sitting here looking out at the snow and reading about sowing seeds. I'm starting to get a little of that gardening fever...and here I thought it was the flu.

Hello Lona! Happy New Year to you and your family. You have a sweet begonia there. The blooms look like they will be more pink soon. As for sowing seeds, I always sow them in the porch as it's hot outside throughout the year here.

I don't have the room to sow seeds inside, I direct sow outside. Love those begonias, that peachy color is gorgeous.
