Signs of Spring

Well we went from 72 degree weather back to cold and snow in just a day or two but it was nice while it lasted. Just typical weather for us here in Ohio where you can have four seasons in one week. LOL!

Dove2
While taking the dog out this morning the call of Mourning Doves let me know that they were back and I saw a pair of Bluebirds checking out the houses so I was excited to see them back. They never hang around here in the winter like they do in other gardens.

Bluebird2_Wisteria

Through the warm ups and cool downs the hyacinths, tulips and daffodils are growing and getting buds. I am so ready to see things growing and blooming again.

Hyacinth
I think even a Ladybug was hiding on these buds. So there are a few very nice signs of spring here and there in the garden.

Geranium_Seedlings
While indoors the Geranium seeds are sprouting. They are always the first to start growing indoors for me.

HGS_Shoes
I hope you all are seeing signs of spring in your gardens too.

Just a note: I apologize if I have not been around to visit your blog postings. Evidently my Google Reader was on the blink because I just got everyone's back postings all at once.  Since they are phasing out the Google Reader in June I will have to keep up another way so it will probably be back to Blotanical. I have not been on Blotanical  very much at all lately because it is running itself it seems these days since Stuart is MIA. He is on Facebook but not his own website from what I can see since there has been no new updates since the new Blotanical failed to launch.
I will catch up folks!

Have a wonderful week and….

Happy Gardening,
Lona

Yeah for signs of spring! I wish we saw Bluebirds in our yard, I think they are mostly in the mountains around here. Hope you don't see anymore snow. We only saw it one day, but we've had it in April before so I won't be completely surprised if we still get some.

Wat een leuk idee om plantjes in die schoenen te doen. Groetjes en veel tuin plezier.

Well, your season is definitely ahead of ours here in Edmonton. We had been enjoying temperatures just above zero and were finally seeing some melting but yesterday and today are more than making up for it with a bitter cold wind, snow, and below freezing temperatures again. We're on a cooling trend for the next few days and still buried in drifts of snow.

I've enjoyed seeing the flower buds of the hyacinth and the beautiful little birds. Thanks for brightening a somewhat dreary (weather wise) day.

The shoes are too cute. You have everything labeled so well. Spring, winter, winter, spring, snow, sun, wind, spring. March is just crazy!

Beautiful pictures for sure!!! They added to my very bad itch for spring.

I did try to go out today but I injured a foot baaaad seven weeks ago and it doesn't want to go out and play yet. Too bad...we had an 80 degree day.

Flip side...Monday we have snow in the forecast....Ozark weather is so fickle! Heeeheehehhee!

God bless ya sweetie and have a marvelous weekend!!! :o)

Hello Lona! It's so good to hear from you. Since the beginning of this month, it has been really warm here. I wish some heat will travel to your beautiful garden. Then you will see many more plants come to live haha... lol :-D That little ladybug and those birds, they look cute and looking for something. I am sure your garden has plenty to offer. And cute shoes hehe...

At last we have today some signs of spring: it does not snow and temp. have gone up to + 6 degr.C. so you see still too cold. Lovely bluebirds you have in your garden, I have never seen them over here. The picture with the little planted shoes is so cute.

I lived in Lorain County, OH for a bout four years so I well remember that changing weather, particularly this time of year. I remember one year my kids hid Easter eggs in the snow.

I'm north of you, but noticed the mourning doves here for a day or two - until it got colder again.

There are blue buckets on the trees down the road...and seeds popping up under lights as well.

I see tulips coming up too.

Not so different!

Those early signs of spring have been a balm to the soul, haven't they? But I really am tired of the ups and downs, is it winter, is it spring? Make up your mind Mother Nature!

Your photos are really beautiful! We always have bluebirds nest here but I haven't seen them yet this year. But it's hard to bird watch when you're at work. :(

I have heard about Google reader finishing but I read all the blog posts on my Blogger dashboard. Or using the links on my sidebar. I rarely visit Blotanical now - it is such a long process to find the blogs you want to read.

Hooray spring! Your photos give us all hope. It's dark and gray here today again. But definitely on to spring.

As for Google Reader, I saw this post recently about a workable alternative. I haven't migrated over yet but because many of the blogs I follow are not garden-related Blotanical won't work for me.

Here is the link: http://www.gimmesomeoven.com/how-to-move-from-google-reader-to-feedly/

I'm delinquent in visiting blogs too but don't have GR to blame. Just too dang busy!

Hi Lona great photos as always.. You are more optimistic about spring than I am.. Just to cold here in Ohio LOL

Hello Lona girl .. you have way more signs of Spring than I do .. it is white and frigid here as per usual in WINTER !
I never did use Google Reader .. I thought you had a blog roll that you can go to ?
Our Mourning Doves that we thought were going to nest at the side of the house changed their minds .. must have been a better real estate agent courting them ? haha
Good luck with the seedlings girl .. they look wonderful !
