And it Just Keeps on Coming

I guess if it wasn’t for the bad weather there would be nothing to talk about around here lately. LOL!
{Other than maybe I think I finally wore out my Canon Rebel camera because I cannot get the picture to focus right anymore.}

Ice Storm 2014
I do not think I will be using the potting bench for a while yet.
But I am working on my seed order.

Ice storm2 2014

We got three inches of snow in a hurry last night. It was really coming down. Then I could hear the sleet falling and hitting the windows.

Ice Storm5 2014

Got up this morning with everything topped with about a quarter inch of ice. When Aspen (puppy) went out this morning he was walking on top of the snow and sliding all over the place. I had to laugh as the chicken that I am stayed indoors and watched.

Ice Storm3 2014

The electricity keeps blinking I am praying that it stays on as I see the branches of some of the trees falling onto the snow around the house. So goes the ice storm of the winter of 2014.
So I will be in doors today and working on my seed order for starting my plants the end of the month, and imagining the pretty flowers already in bloom from them.
You all stay safe out there if you are in this storm too.

Think good thoughts of spring and flowers and for those of you who are still able to be out and still have flowers blooming, well…..   Okay I am jealous.

Happy Gardening,

Lona

the weather is 'simply frightful' in the US, England and Europe. Here's hoping that a gentle and kind spring is on the way for you, with our autumn rains down south.

Your photo's look like our trees today.
That is the best thing to do stay in doors and read, and think Spring.

It is beautiful though! I don't think I would want to live in it but on the other hand, not having a Winter is terrible. It was actually cool today. Sweater weather and I am so grateful. Lots of clouds but not a drop of rain in months.
I am jealous too...of your beautiful Winter weather and how beautiful you Springtime will be. We are getting desperate..rivers running dry..cracked ground..crops suffering.. :( Thank you for stopping by and commenting.

Your photos are lovely, even though it has to be awfully cold there. I'd be indoors too getting seed orders ready. Looking at catalogs is a wonderful way to pass a winter day.

I'm one of the ones who has blooms, and has them all year long, but I won't rub it in. I do enjoy them and am thankful for them.

Happy seed ordering ~ FlowerLady

We did not get any ice with this last blast of winter, but, 8 inches of snow fell. Snowshoes are needed to travel anywhere throughout the garden. I travel along the sidewalk to the front door and around back to feed the birds. Hoping for spring :)

Your pictures are graphical in white and black, Lona! lovely!
Our weather is not better than yours. Frost up to -18 C changes to +2 C and snow melts and gets icy. I could imagine your puppy walking on ice!

You are getting a good dose of winter this year aren't you? Over here we're waiting for the real wet season to arrive, but it's not looking very promising given that generally the dry season starts in April!!! Hopefully we'll both see what we're hoping for very soon.

Hi Lona, we haven't had an ice storm 'yet' and I keep my fingers crossed. Just cold and more cold, though today we hit 17! Felt like a heatwave, lol. I hate walking on ice, and if a four footed dog is falling down, I'd be terrified. Even the chickens fall down now and then, but they're wearing feather pillows on their butts.

Your ice photos are beautiful, I hope your power stayed on though. Have a good weekend!

Beautiful pictures of the ice!! Love them all especially the one with the bench. But I think the temperature out there must have been really low and it was really cold right? Remember to keep warm Lona!

Beautiful black and white pictures.
So exciting all that ice but better staying inside. We have not got any snow or ice this winter, too much storm and rain.
