Here are some shots to recap some of the beautiful gardens and sights from last year.
In February after a few months without gardening and flowers I attended the Home And Garden Show which was celebrating the bicentennial of Columbus the state capital.
I am certain by this February I will be fed up with winter and be in need of a flower fix once more and ready to attend the Garden Show again.
In March Shelly and I were off to the Franklin Park Conservatory to see the Butterfly Exhibit.
And we were there just in time to see the giant Amorphophallus Konjac Araceae in bloom.
And there to was displays of Orchids in a rainbow of colors that would brighten any winter day,
In May we visited the Oak Ridge Mansion and toured the house and were given free rein to walk all around the estate and gardens at our leisure.
A visit to Charlottesville Virginia's to wander around the Historical District of the city with its many fantastic shops.
We drove out the Shenandoah Mountains and found so many beautiful wild flowers in bloom ….
and the Mountain Laurels were beautiful to see along the mountain sides and road.
We also got to see our first Blue Bunting bird.
A visit to Natural Bridge which was really impressive to see.
And the fragrance of Summer Sweet blooms were filling the air.
Also the sound of the seventeen year cicadas was heard all around us upon the mountains and along the trails.
A visit to Monticello and its gardens.
Part 2 of my favorite places and gardens will be posted soon………
Happy Gardening,
Lona

All great photos. The Natural Bridge is a site to remember. Love the Laurels. So wanted to put some in here since they're evergreen but require acid soil and knew it would be wasted money and time. Monticello and Oak Ridge are both beautiful! Hope your New Year is just as wonderful.
