Watching The Violet's Bloom

What would we cold climate gardeners do without
houseplants to give us our fix for growing and the
touches of color we so love.
Below is one of the good Ladybugs. She is watching
for all the little pests that may be around to attack the
African Violets.

I got some new Macro lenses for Christmas and I am finally
getting around to trying them out. I think I am in love.
I am just giddy over the way they are capturing these violet
blooms.

They almost look like they are covered with a coating of frost
or that they are sugar coated.

They look good enough to eat. Yeah, it's all about the food
with me.

You're right, they look like candy. I think I need to put "improving my photography skills" on my to do list this year.

They do look good enough to eat! It is nice to have some flowers inside. I just picked up a couple of African Violets too. I was in "color withdrawl."

Beautiful shots. I love a little indoor color.

What type of camera, and macro lens do you have? Mine is coming anyday now. I can hardly wait.

Donna; It does look like diamond dust, never thought about that one. Maybe it is Fairy dust!!!

Susan; I am such an amateur when it comes to photography. I love the process of trial and error. Mine is mostly error :). The pictures I have erased.

Gardenprogress; I know exactly what you mean. At this time of year color is as needful as Chocolate.

Deb; thanks for the tag. I will begin working on it.

Cindee; Wow, would love to trade leaves. I only have the one plant but would sent you a couple leaves. You will have to tell how to do it since I have never mailed leaves before. Thanks for the offer.

Garden Girl; Oh, come on join the club of color and get a violet :) Thanks for dropping by.

Jen; I have a Canon Rebel XTI 400 with a 10X macro lens from Digital Concepts.I ask Chey from A Maritime Gardener what he used and he recommended it. I just love it and only wish my picture looked as good as his or yours. Maybe I will learn in time.

I just happened upon this post...sorry I've not been here in a while...hard to visit so many bloggers that I love:) These are beautiful, it really does look like sugar on them. I am most likely, (it appears, anyway) getting a macro lens for my birthday in March!! I got my camera last yr. on my birthday, so my hubby has hinted about the macro and I'm looking forward to it!! Take care Lona!
