Welcoming Amber Skies

This is what greeted us this morning in the Hills.
It was glorious to see the amber skies of the sun
rising. With warm weather coming in and the promise
of melting ice it was more than welcome.
The sun did not last long with clouds and strong
winds taking its place but it remains warm and
that is what our area needs right now. With a packed
layer of ice on the ground it is very slick out yet.
Going to the bird feeders takes on a whole new
adventure in the various body contortions one can
go through while trying to stay on your feet.

The clouds threatened its rising but could not
stop the brilliant show that unfolded.

" Closer My God To Thee " as the old hymn goes.

What a splendid sunrise that is. I hope the day stayed as nice as it started. It's been gorgeous though cold here today too.

How beautiful. What a nice way to start off your day. Hope the sun will come back out and melt some of your ice!

Beautiful photos. Last evening around dusk I went out to pick a lemon and caught the last glimpse of a lovely pink and orange sunset - but one of the downsides of living in a densely populated part of suburbia is that my view is quite small and framed by houses and basketball hoops. Seeing the glow through the trees is lovely.

The skies have really been beautiful lately, and you did a great job capturing that beauty. The trees are lovely as well.

It looks like the glow from a white hot fire on the horizon -- beautiful shots!

Jodi:It turned out to be a very warm day and was needed so.Thanks for dropping by.

Catherine: The ice is melted! Yeah!

Susan: It is hard to get pictures here sometimes also because of all of the trees around that blocks the views.

Sue and Nancy: The skies have been just gorgeous this winter for both sunrises and sunsets.I need to stop taking the pictures but each one is a little different so I cannot keep myself from snapping them ;D

Beautiful sunrise, sorry I missed it! I've never been to the Columbus Home and Garden show, but we are definitely going. The website doesn't say anything about not allowing cameras, so I'm sticking mine in my purse!
