Just In Time

Getting the garden beds cleaned up came just in time
because the plants are really starting to come up now.

The many tulips that are planted are coming up by
leaps and bounds.
I think I must be the " queen of mulch".

This is a new bed of tulips that I made along the edge of the
woods last Autumn with a hundred tulip bulbs and I am anxious
to see how it will look. I also planted some Asiatic Lilies with the
Tulips that will come up and bloom this Summer.

Iris are just starting to sprout.

Some of my daffodils are just starting to grow well
while others are getting buds.
In previous postings I have stated that I hate Oak leaves,
this is why. You clean the beds and get a March wind and
the leaves comes in from the woods and of course they end up
right back in the flower beds. That is why I mow and mulch
up as many as I can in the Autumn. The Oak leaves just take
forever to crumble up left on their own.

It also seems that the Anemone Queen Charlotte made it
through the winter with some new green leaves coming
forth.

And the Foam Flower "Spring Symphony" also has
survived the cold and snow with some new leaves starting.

This is always the best time of the year when our gardens
start coming back to life after the long dreary days of winter.
We gardeners grow in better spirits just to see our plants
growing knowing that gardening days are upon us once again
and we can start digging in the dirt and getting our hands dirty
once more. A sense of expectation get the blood to flowing.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. The vertigo is
about all gone now and when I get back out in the garden I
hopefully will not need the rake to hold me up :-)

I am happy to see that flowers are coming up at your place. It is good to see green. With the warmer weather we are getting now, due to the rain, things should start to happen around here soon.

Glad to hear that you are feeling better. Vertigo is nasty.

Glad you are feeling better, Lona. It's a bummer when you can't do all you want to do. My neighbor was building a pond in her yard a couple of years ago and then broke her arm in the middle of it. She was laid up all summer and couldn't get it done. Frustration!

Glad you are feeling better. The garden looks great. The tulips will be stunning with lilies mixed in. I am having that same hate/love relationship with my oak leaves. Can't figure out how some areas are bare, others have too darned many! urrrr! A big task moving them off the plants.

Lona, your garden looks just grand. Isn't it a miracle to see all those little green bits pushing through and signally spring.

Hi Lona, just left a message for you on Blotanical.
I love Tiarella... have been waiting for mine to come to life but it's very quiet this year. Usually the bloom is stunning. It's 'Sugar and Spice'. They have great names!

Glad the vertigo has subsided. I had it once in Germany. It is really rough. Your garden is popping up and looking good.

So nice to hear that you're feeling better. It's always wonderful when the earth springs back to life, isn't it? I can't wait until the snow dissappears so I can see my plants (or at least what't left of them from last year) again.

I'm glad your vertigo is going away. With you living near the woods in Hocking Hills, I wonder how you grow tulips without the deer munching them? My hubby understands my need to grow things, so he only looked askance briefly at the vases full of sticks. He just assumes that I know what I'm doing! He has a pretty green thumb himself, so he's a good sport.
