Bella’roma Rose

Good morning everyone!
I wanted to introduce you to a new rose bush
the is now blooming in the garden.
Bella’roma is a hybrid tea rose that was added
to my rose garden  in late spring and I am loving
its beautiful blooms.

Rose_BellaRomaBush_July18

It has a wonderful old rose  fragrance and won top
honors as a 2003 Rose of the Year.

BellaRomaBush_July20

It has a yellow bud with pink edges.

I have been fighting  the insects this summer that are
determined to eat all of my roses and it is just not the
pesky beetles that are after them.

We have been getting some rain shower this week
which was needed in this area,
so these pictures were taken in between the showers.

As with the Double Delight rose, Bella’roma blooms get
pinker as the bloom ages.
I guess the real test for this rose is if it survives are roller
coaster winters here in Ohio and my gardening efforts.
I have also promised it that I will not move it. LOL!

The foliage is a glossy green and it is suppose to flower
in waves all season. So we will see about this much
wanted trait. It is also suppose to be disease resistant.
The rose was purchased at half price from Edmunds Roses
and came as a bare root rose. I have purchased two roses
from them this year and both were large healthy bushes.

Double Delight rose is having another wave of blooms.
It has a creamy white center while the Bella’roma
has the yellow center.

roses.
These roses were added and moved in to replace the
roses bushes that had turned to all red because they
had died back to the Dr. Huey rose which are used
in a few roses for a graft. More replacements will be
added next spring to the rose garden by then I will
also know what has survived the winter.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week and
some of you are getting a little cooler weather.

Happy Gardening Everyone !!

Dear Lona, This rose is completely unknown to me and I am reminded of a peony by the fully opened blooms.

I do agree that planting roses bare rooted can be much more economical than containerised plants. I always advise this for hedging material since small, bare rooted specimens are cheap, quick to establish and grow rapidly.

Double Delight is one of my all time favorites. I have more photos of that rose than any other. I like your new Bellaroma. The colors remind me of Peace which is also a favorite.

Hope my comment went thru--it just suddenly disappeared.

Your roses are just beautiful, We are having grasshopper's and a tiny black worm eating our flowers up. We lost our tomato's to the hornworm so many we had to pull them up.And to think it was butterflies or moth's that lay the eggs.

beautiful rose! It kinda of reminds me of my climbing Peace rose, but with more intense coloring.

Bella roma would look lovely with all of my pinkish roses. I am going to look it up and see if it will work inn zone 5.

the rose is so lovely!! I love the color combination

Just in case this is a duplicate response - not sure my last one got through.

I am going to have to look up that Bella'roma rose to see if it will survive in zone 5. The colors would blend so well with all of my pink roses.

How beautiful Lona, I am totally smitten!! Yellow/pink roses are my favorite. I will have to check out zone hardiness, and see if I can make the move to tea roses...Thanks so much for the introduction. :)

Bella'roma is just beautiful! I haven't heard of that one before. I just love the pink and yellow coloring, my two favorite rose colors on one rose :)

Hi Lona~~ I have never heard of 'Bella'roma.' What a nice name for a nice rose. If it's as delicious as 'Double Delight' I predict we'll all be growing it soon.

No moving it? Where's the sport in that? LOL

What a charming rose. The pink edges give the rose such a sweetness and it's fragrant, too! A rose without fragrance just isn't the same.

Ciao, Bella'roma.

This is a beautiful rose. I have been tempted to purchase this rose several times and didn't. Your photos reminded me of how pretty the blooms are. The creamy yellow center is great.

The Double Delight is also a fav. I have this rose and love the fragrance....

What a beautiful new rose. At first I thought it looked a bit like a Peace or Chicago Peace rose, until I saw how the petals turn darker age. It is easy to see why you love it so :-)

I am having the same problem with insect here...and am fighting them with all I have...and they are winning!
Lona, that last rose is fantastic.
I am on the lookout for "America" and still have not found it. It is sort of a climber...and I once did a tellis...and will do another if I can fine it. I would love it over our front porch...but so far no luck. None.

Have a wonderful day..

Like others, I thought of Peace when I saw the rose, though it has more color around the edges. How nice to have it growing so well for you!

A lovely rose, Lona! Our local Master Gardeners' Idea Garden grows the 'Double Delight,' so I have seen this beauty in person as well. They look wonderful in spite of the insects you say you are fighting. That's one reason I don't grow any hybrid teas--I'm too lazy to fuss over them:) But I would love to grow those rosebud geraniums in your last post--I've never seen anything like these!
