Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!

I wish to take this time to wish you all a Blessed
Thanksgiving throughout this week.
Some will be traveling and I wish safety for you
as you travel.
Since we are such a small family we do not
have tables laid for feasting but we gather together
and go out for Dinner.
But I am thankful for our small family, our health,
love, good friends and all of the Blessings God had
bestowed upon us.
Blessed to be born in a nation with brave Men and
Women and Freedom.

Giving Thanks

For the hay and the corn and the wheat that is reaped,
For the labor well done, and the barns that are heaped,
For the sun and the dew and the sweet honeycomb,
For the rose and the song and the harvest brought home --
Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving!
For the trade and the skill and the wealth in our land,
For the cunning and strength of the workingman's hand,
For the good that our artists and poets have taught,
For the friendship that hope and affection have brought --

 Happy Thanksgiving !
Lona

I know what you mean Lona. We have a super small family too but we are thankful & happy to be together just the same. I hope you have a really nice Thanksgiving.

ps. Your fall header collage is beautiful and your previous post on the frost is gorgeous. We must have similar climates because that happened here over the weekend. I am still working on getting a blue jay photo as good as the one you posted tho!

Happy thanksgiving, dear Lona. Families are the unit of society, small or big. I have a small family as well and I thank God for giving it to me.

Happy Thanksgiving, Lona! You know the more I think about it even with a large family going out to dinner is not a bad idea! Sometimes I think we focus on more how the meal is going to taste than actually being together and enjoying the company of friends and family.
Luby's anyone? JK

Going out sounds nice when I think about doing all the dishes after the big meal! I'm supposed to start baking pies here soon but am procrastinating. Pecan, pumpkin and huckleberry this year. Yummy.

Couldn't have said it better myself, we do have so much to be grateful for. We too, have a small family here. But since hubby and I are almost always on the road, doing an art show THanksgiving weekend, we eat out nearly every year... in a different restaurant... in a different state. it is really not much fun, but at least I don't have to wash the dishes!

BTW, my birdiegirls are grateful as well, and know they don't ever need to hide on Thanksgiving. I would NEVER eat a bird I knew!

Good sentiments about being thankful here in our country, ditto!
We too, have a small family, but hubby and I are exhibit in artshows every Thanksgiving weekend and therefore must eat in different restaurant in a different state each year. It isn't much fun, but at least I don't have the cleanup afterwords.
BTW, My birdie girls wish to tell you they do not fear Thanksgiving, they are confident that I would NEVER eat a bird I knew!
