Oh Joy! It Is Spring Already!

Did I over sleep or did Spring come while
I was occupied with Fall?
Or is the Seed and Gardening Catalogs coming
earlier this year?

Catalogs

Isn’t my plant ‘to get’ list long enough?
Why are they tempting me when the snow has not
even drove me to the pulling out of hair and gaining of
ten more pounds from winter hibernation?
How insensitive of Edmund’s and Heirloom Roses to
show all these new roses now before I can even plant them?
Why would Thompson & Morgan  and Pinetree Gardens
tempt me with seeds of the new plants for 2011 before the ground is frozen and the mini greenhouse has not even
been brought into the house yet?

Black_White_Muscovy

Why the ponds around here are not even frozen over yet.
Why the oak leaves just got blown over into the neighbors
yard and into the woods after last nights blow.
(Never fear they will be back)
LOL!
Okay maybe I am being a little (or a lot) over dramatic here
but really are the catalogs arriving earlier this year?

All of the doctor appointment’s were cancelled for this
week and moved to next week. Right before Thanksgiving!!!
Go figure. No, none of the appointments were  for me but for my daughter whom I ride along with and my  Mother whom I drive to her appointments. I am fine and  thank you.
So I have had time to be silly and salivate over these catalogs.
Now you tell me what am I to do this winter?

Happy Gardening !
Lona

Those catalogs would have me salivating too.

If the catalogs are arriving early, they are trying to rush Christmas along too, and Thanksgiving isn't even here yet.

Enjoy those catalogs, and planning and dreaming about next years garden.

Ha - I love all the gardening catalogs in winter, too. My wish list doesn't need to get any longer, but it will by next spring, I'm sure.

I'm right there with you. I shouldn't be getting these where there are holiday preparations to take care of. Although, I have tagged a few things for Santa.

Dear Lona, There is no harm in READING the catalogues. In fact, quite possibly you can fill every winter day, afternoon and evening reading a new catalogue. And, what is not available through the post is surely available online!! There is only one problem....avoiding the temptation to BUY!!!

What's going on Lona, are the catalogs traveling from east to west? I have not recceived one garden catalog yet.

It's so you can make your Christmas wish list and pass it out, lol.

Hi Lona, I know what you mean, I have gotten three of them already myself. I still have daffodils to get in the ground and they are trying to tempt me with seeds? I haven't even yanked out the annuals in the formal garden yet. But still, I find myself turning to the 'New and Best' pages already, looking for what I'm going to try for next year. LOL

I haven't received a single catalogue yet. You must be on their preferred customer list! That heirloom rose catalogue looks very tempting to me!!

Good competition among those supplies ;-) I hope you will able to get the best deal and flower/plant seeds. Enjoy your catalog shopping! Can't wait to see your garden (the result) next Spring/Summer.

Plan baby plan and look forward to spring! Heeehehehe!

That's what I do. Ya know how much I dislike winter so as soon as the nasty starts I plan for the next spring!

Yep, I've been doin' allot of that drivin' too. I watch over my little MIL and drive her to her appointments to the big city seventy miles away. She had an MRI last week...woohoo!!! This is what my life has become. Exciting isn't it??? Heeehehehe!!!

Have a most marvelously blessed day sweetie. Thanks so much for your comment!

Hi Lona, thanks so much for your thoughtful comments on my blog. I'm glad you visited and enjoyed your stay ;-)

Your photography is beautiful and I've spent way too much time going through your photos as I'm procrastinating doing everything else I should be doing! But what a beautiful distraction!

I'm feeling like you about the catalogs except mine are all for Christmas! Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and it bugs me that the Christmas stuff starts at Halloween...grumble. Anyway, beautiful blog and I must go do my work now...thanks again for the distraction ;-)

They will be well read and dogeared come spring. The wish list will grow longer with each read and as the months pass. Take care and happy reading.
p.s. The phlox seeds arrived today in the mail. Thank you very much. Oh for spring.

Not one catalog yet. That's probably a good thing as I have no garden yet, either.

As for the obligatory ten winter pounds...I think I'm already there and winter just started!

Christine in Alaska, plus ten lbs.
