With winter still stretching its icy claws I have been
counting down until the Central Ohio Home & Garden Show is held to get out and have a fun day amongst
the flowers and just to leave winter behind for a day.
I need to see tulips ,
lots and lots of tulips.
And Rhododendrons in bloom.
I am ready to see hydrangeas in bloom and
beds of begonia’s.
I need to get away from winter and see some water
fountains flowing or….
hear the water falls.
So I am counting down to the end of this short month.
This is just a little reminder for those who wish to get away
with me to see some wonderful floral displays.
This year inspiration will be “Gardens That Rock”.
With 13 full-size living landscapes, each garden will feature one of rock's greatest icons, eras or legendary songs. Show guests will enjoy landscape elements and aspects that embrace the rock 'n roll theme.
The show runs from February 26 – March 6.
It will be closed on Monday February 28th.
The new times for the show will be noon to 8 p.m. weekdays, Tuesday through Friday. Weekend show hours are Saturdays 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. and opening an hour earlier, Sundays 10 a.m. - 6 p.m..
Back by popular demand, Tracy DiSabato-Aust will once again enlighten guests with her deep horticultural knowledge and her vibrant stage presence. DiSabato-Aust will appear at the 2011 Central Ohio Home & Garden Show on the Garden Stage, at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, 2011. She'll follow both of her lectures with an autograph session and book signing, featuring all three of her books, which will also be available for purchase.
The Central Ohio Home & Garden Show features more than 400 exhibits, attractions, and presentations.
Tickets are $12.00 and you can go to the Columbus Dispatch Events website and get a coupon for $2.00 off the admission price.
A full event schedule is also listed to help you plan
your visit.
I am thrilled to have been given tickets again this year to promote the show.
Maybe some of you who have never been there
would like to attend or some of you are planning a return visit. Well I can help the costs of attending by giving out a few tickets.
There are no gimmicks or comments to write to receive your tickets. All you have to do is to send me an email with your
name and address and I will get you two tickets mailed out.
The tickets will be on a first serve bases until they are all
gone so get in touch with me early.
Maybe I will be able to see some of you there.
Happy Gardening,
Lona

Oh, I wish you weren't so far away because it looks like a great show.
I attended a workshop several years ago where Tracy spoke (I have her books) and she is quite impressive and great looking!

Sounds deeelightful! Wish I lived closer...Balisha
Oh how I wish I could go and meet you Lona!! Look forward to your blogging recap of the event.
Looks like fun! Your show runs quite a bit longer than ours does. How fun to be able to give tickets away. Too bad they don't have plane tickets as well :) Have fun!
Beautiful visions of Spring!~Hugs, Patti
I love garden shows; they do give a temporary fix to the gardening itch - or else make it worse!
Sigh.. if only you had tickets to a show in my area...
I would love to see tulips also coming up, but alas I only get to see them in pots at the grocery store. :-)
Someone is really going to enjoy that show. Have fun and do take pictures to share with the rest of us.

Looks like an incredibly fantastic show - wish i could come peek around & hope to see pics after your visit! Washington has our garden show coming up & this is the first year i am going to miss it...so so so sad! xoox
Our area garden show should be coming up in a few weeks, I can't wait!
Oh, we had plans to attend, then a snafu in my friends business. I wish I did not have to miss the show this year. It is always a great event.
Sounds like our show here, but ours is in March. Tickets would be great if I did not live so far away. Enjoy Traci, I have all three of her books.
What a wonderful show, I wish I lived closer...but I hope you will post pictures of the experience for us all to enjoy. The tulips are intoxicating, and the begonias are almost too pretty for words, that shade of coral pink, just so beautiful!
Thank you for sharing such lovely flowers. Would be glad to know what you learn from the upcoming event too.
Wow Lona I wish I was going to be in Ohio. V
Wonderful! You'll fill your eyes and your soul with the beauty there!

I too have had enough of winter...bring on the tulips. Maybe in a couple of months...I hope you have a splendid gardening show...
I think we're all more than a little tired of winter this year. Your garden show sounds lovely. I hope you have lots of attendees. We have the Portland show slated for a few weeks from now.
Pat and I are going. You just never know what kind of yard art you'll find. jim
I need some tulips too. How much longer till springtime?
Oh girl, I am so with you on that. It is getting to be time for flowers, and colors, and definitely water gardens, and birds singing...sigh...sniff...I do have a few narcissus poking their green stems out though so there is hope.

Ah the tulips are so loveyl. Sadly our climate is not much ideal for them.
As I was scrolling down this post, looking at the photos, I recognized Tracy, one of my favorite authors, and stopped to read what you said. That sounds like a cool show, with the rock music, and Tracy doing some presentations. I have all 3 of her books, plus both copies of the one on well tended perennials that there are two editions of. I wish we lived in your area, but then, not really. I have been having fantasies of moving to North Carolina to be in a warmer zone and to be closer to the ocean.
Have fun at the garden show!
