Dew Drops on Roses

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.
We got some rain yesterday which was very welcome. This time of the year when I do not have to drag the hoses around it is always appreciated. Plus the rain barrel and cistern I use for overflow got some additional water from it.

BillWarriner4_DewDrops The roses will welcome the deep soaking of rain.
Yesterday morning all the flowers in the garden were covered and glistening from drops of dew from the haze.

But the roses especially looked pretty.
Maybe the beetles are finally getting done feeding on them.

The tiny drops look like frost on Crimson Bouquet.

Even Yellow Mesa Gaillardia sparkles in the morning light.

This morning the air is cooler and it is giving us a hint of fall temperatures. The humidity has disappeared for a couple of days. Looks like it is going to be a nice week to work in the garden here.

Happy Gardening,
Lona

How pretty the moisture on the roses and leaves look! I love the photo of the Crimson Beauty and also the leaves on the long stemmed pink rosebuds!

Isn't the weather wonderful today?? Your roses look so pretty....mine were overrun with the beetles again this year. The rains in June made soggy mops of them but like yours they seem to be coming back to life again. I think I will be heading back out there this evening to do a little gardening myself! Enjoy your day!~Hugs, Patti

Hi Lona,

Glad to hear you got some water and I hope you do manage to get some work done in the garden.

Here the ground's still too dry to get anything planted, so it looks like I'll have to wait even longer.

Your roses are beautiful especially covered in water droplets. There's nothing like a summer rainshower to refresh the garden. Thanks for visiting my blog today!

Gorgeous! Though they are all shimmery loveliness, my favorite might have to be the Crimson Bouquet. That one wows me! Wow!

It looks like your roses are coming back, I think mine are also. Maybe we will have a warm fall so we can see how beautiful they are.

We got the same rain as you but it did the garden little good. It really came down fast and hard, but little soaked in. My favorite photo of yours today is the wet Gaillardia.

Beautiful pictures, it's amazing how much little droplets of water can enhance already lovely blooms. They simply shine!

Your roses made me smile! Thanks Lona!! I can see that they are really happy after the 'deep soak'. It's wonderful to have rain after a period of hot weather both for plants and ourselves ;-)

My roses are jealous! They'd give anything for a bit of morning dew right now. No chance--our Nevada August humidity is currently in the single digits. We can feel the coolness creep into our mornings though so the seasons are changing.

Beautiful Roses and photos. I am so envious of your rain. You get so much more than I do here. I spent a couple hours watering yesterday, but feel I should almost be done with that for the season.

Roses are the best models for dew/rain drops!

I surely love dew drops on roses pictures! So beautiful. The cool off feels nice, but I'm not really ready to give up on summer yet. I've lost my garden mojo too, I just sit back and watch these days.

Your roses are looking beautiful! Mine are kind of between blooms right now. We had a little rain on Monday, but otherwise I've started handwatering. This is probably the latest I've ever started watering the garden.
