I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. Many here in Ohio had a rough holiday spent with high temperatures and no electricity. In some parts of the state around Paulding County it may take up to 2 to 3 weeks to get their electricity back.
Many in the surrounding areas hope to get theirs back this weekend. Some that just got their electricity back up were hit with more storms only to lose it again. With heat indexes running from 107-115 it is a dangerous and life threatening time.
Thank you to the surrounding states who have sent in workers to help those here in Ohio.
For part 2 of the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum and Botanical garden I wanted to share some of the plants that were blooming on our visit.
Sweet Annie ? This one I am still not certain of what it was.
Oakleaf Hydrangeas
Everyone have a safe week and try to stay cool.

Lona, thank you for sharing the trip to the garden! The photo of a lake with red leaf tree and willow bent over it, is beautiful.
What beautiful, lush plants and your photos are just wonderful doing each one justice. It's a tough time in Ohio and all around the country with the strange weather pattern. I sure hope it ends soon and that everyone makes it through. Thank you for putting a smile on my face with your luscious photos.
Looks like a beautiful place! I love those yellow foxtail lilies - I keep eying them in catalogs and thinking about getting some.
I hope you had a good fourth of July!
So lovely. What a wonderful place and thank you for sharing it with us. Up in Northern Ohio, we seem to have a "pop up" storm every other day in this 100 plus heat. Fortunately we have not experienced the power outages that others are having. I feel so bad for everyone who is suffering in this heat.
Hard to deal with that much heat and for the power to be out. I do hope people are able to find ways to cool off.
My gosh so much beauty you've managed to capture.
Everything there is sure looking good considering the heat. They could use cleaning up the water though. :)

Hi Lona, It is unbearably hot here! Your images are so fresh that I almost feel a bit cooler! Have a great weekend.
So much beauty there! I especially love the last shot...beautiful! I'm sorry so many are still without power. It must be a dreadful experience. Hopefully the work will be finished sooner than expected for their sake.
Lona girl ! Hope you are able to stay cool !!
We as in Ontario, sent over 200 workers to help out with the power outage (I only knew because I saw a wee bit on the news) so far we haven't been taken down yet .. I would melt.
This is a very pretty tour you did girl .. all the plants are lovely.
I found the exact kind of euphorbia you asked about .."Star Dust White Sparkle" .. can they squeeze any more names into one ? LOL It was much easier as Diamond Frost euphorbia!! haha
I was very bad and bought 2 more Little Lime hydrangea .. now where am I going to put them ? eekk!!

Your pictures are so pretty! I can imagine what a beautiful and wonderful place this is to get to tour. I hope the heat will subside for you soon, and that electricity is restored. I can't imagine sweltering in that type of heat without some air conditioning! Dangerous indeed!
You presented this great garden quite well. It is a great one to see at multiple times during the year! There are some killer mountain laurel and native azaleas.
Beautiful photos. I hope the weather eases and the electricity is back for everyone soon!
