Shades of Purple

Well I hope everyone had a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving with family or friends.
It was a beautiful day yesterday here in Ohio with sunny skies and a temperature of 65 degrees. It felt more like spring than late fall and we took advantage of it before the rain and cold comes back in today.
Everyone can work off all the Thanksgiving meals and goodies today fighting the traffic and the long lines.
Being ‘Black Friday’ I hope everyone survives the lines and stampedes in the stores.

Alyssum_2012

Now that the weather has been cooler and we had some rains the alyssum in the big containers is looking better than it did all summer. It was just too hot and dry for it during the summer.

The Beauty Bush, ‘Profusion’  adds some color to a rainy day.

 Violet_Autumnal

Indoors the African Violets are blooming. These will be the first blooms from ‘Autumnal’.

Violets

“Wranglers Dixie’ has been around and blooming for two years now. I love its frosty or sparkling blooms that looks like Fairy Dust or sugar upon them.

Everyone have a wonderful weekend and….

Happy Gardening,

The only Black Friday shopping I do is online. I got to work late this year, and it was a piece of cake compared to the early shift. Love your purples! Wasn't yesterday just perfect weather? Thanksgiving is often so cold and dreary, but that was incredible.

Hi Lona...I'm so thankful for our online friendship this year. I've been able to go on "jaunts" with you and your daughter...visiting places I'll never go. Also, I have enjoyed your gorgeous pictures of flowers in your yard and now the houseplants. You have a very green thumb.

I love purple, and your photos are just gorgeous. The beauty bush looks so pretty, and your violet really does look like it's dusted with sugar - good enough to eat!

I have tried african violets many times and I just can't seem to get it right. Yours are beautiful! I think I will venture out to shop today hoping to avoid the stampede.

Love your flowers/photos..Staying around home a little more. I don't like to venture in the woods during hunting season but am afraid I'll get a case of "Cabin Fever" LOL

Your weather sounds great. Enjoy! Also, your photos are amazing!

I stayed away from the shopping & all the crowds. Just can't get excited about it so I usually end up being a Dec shopper. But I did make progress on decorating ~ yay!
Have a good week Lona.
