A Rose Parade

The Roses are coming into bloom and what a beautiful
display they are making. I love Roses but have had my ups
and downs with them through the years. I have lost so many
with our harsh winters here in Ohio and the hard clay soil that
lies atop the hills here in the Hocking Hills area is not ideal for
gardening. Caves, rocks, and clay soil makes for beautiful scenery
but is terrible for vegetable and flower gardening.
The soil has to be amended to get good results.
The new Knock Out Roses seem to just take it all in stride though
and grow regardless. So they are now a favorite. I acquired two
of the newer Double Knock Out Roses this Spring, the red and the pink,
but they are just now starting to bud so there are not any pictures of
them as yet. Three of the single blossom Knock Out Roses that are in
my flower beds are blooming.

Rainbow Knock Out Rose

Pink Knock Out Rose

This is a Pink Knock Out but the color is lighter pink

Crimson Bouquet

The Crimson Bouquet has survived in the garden for years.
It dries so well, last long, and has a wonderful fragrance.

Scentimental Rose looks like peppermint candy.

Irish Gold Rose

Red Blaze Climbing Rose

New Dawn Climbing Rose
