Today is Blooming Tuesday sponsored by Jean
over at “Ms. Green Thumb” and it is my first time to
There are a lot of things in bloom now so I thought
it would be fun to join the fun with Jean and the other
great gardeners. Since I am at a loss for words today this
will be a perfect time to show some blooms without
my boring everyone to death.
As I was going around the garden beds taking some
pictures I noticed that I had a lot of pinks.
The pinks were not a planned color but they do seem
to end up in my flowerbeds.
I seem to run toward the royal colors in the garden of
purples, reds, pinks and blues.
I love yarrows in the garden so I have several colors of it
and keep adding more as new varieties are available.
It seems I have three colors of pink yarrow which look
similar and may well be the same with the names changed.
Achillea ‘Richard Nelson’
Hydrangea ‘Alpen Glow’
This hydrangea is just so beautiful and the picture does
not do justice to the deep rose pink that it blooms in.
Dianthus ‘Antique Rose’
I did not see the little spider on the bloom of the Crownvetch
until I uploaded the pictures. So it was a little surprise thrown in.
Echinacea ‘Double Decker’
This Echinacea is suppose to have pink petals growing
upwards from the middle of the cone but last year it lost its
double deck and looks like the regular variety of coneflower
Old Fashioned Pink Hollyhock
I am not crazy about this pink color but seeds will be saved
for Kylee over at “Our Little Acre” if the deer can resist them.
This lily was suppose to be a peach colored ‘Windsor
Castle’ lily and I planted it in my orange and peach bed.
I think it is a mislabeled lily because it is far from being
peach. It seems I have the worst luck at getting mislabeled
plants. LOL! Anyone know what it may be???
This Bee balm has grown so tall this year and is in its
second year. I am looking forward to seeing it leap next year.
Climbing Rose ‘New Dawn’
This rose is winding down now with only a few blooms left.
Fragaria ‘Lipstick’ Ornamental Strawberry
This ornamental strawberry plant is getting runners now
and I am going to try to anchor the runners to take root.
It has had a few tiny berries also.
Salvia ‘Rose Queen’
Verbena Burgundy White Eyes
Side Flowerbed with Lambs Ear, Bee Balm
Astilbe, Evening Primrose and Hydrangea.
Happy Gardening Everyone!!
