In The Pink For ‘Blooming Tuesday’

Today is Blooming Tuesday sponsored by Jean
over at  “Ms. Green Thumb” and it is my first time to
join in.
There are a lot of things in bloom now so I thought
it would be fun to join the fun with Jean and the other
great gardeners. Since I am at a loss for words today this
will be a perfect time to show some blooms without
my boring everyone to death.

BloomingTuesday_Button
As I was going around the garden beds taking some
pictures I noticed that I had a lot of pinks.
The pinks were not a planned color but they do seem
to end up in my flowerbeds.
I seem to run toward the royal colors in the garden of
purples, reds, pinks and blues.

Achillea_Cerise

Achillea ‘Cerise’

I love yarrows in the garden so I have several colors of it
and keep adding more as new varieties are available.
It seems I have three colors of pink yarrow which look
similar and may well be the same with the names changed.

Achillea_RNelson_June5

Achillea ‘Richard Nelson’

AlpenGlow2_June22

Hydrangea ‘Alpen Glow’

This hydrangea is just so beautiful and the picture does
not do  justice to the deep rose pink that it blooms in.

Dianthus_AntiqueRose2_May13

Dianthus ‘Antique Rose’

Crownvetch_Spider

Crownvetch Groundcover
I did not see the little spider on the bloom of the Crownvetch
until I uploaded the pictures. So it was a little surprise thrown in.

Echinacea_June22

Echinacea ‘Double Decker’
This Echinacea is suppose to have pink petals growing
upwards from the middle of the cone but last year it lost its
double deck and looks like the regular variety of coneflower
now.

Echinacea_Razzmatazz2_June22

Echinacea ‘Razzmatazz’

Hollyhock_Peach

Old Fashioned Pink Hollyhock
I am not crazy about this pink color but seeds will be saved
for Kylee over at  “Our Little Acre” if the deer can resist them.

Lily_Achillea

Unknown Lily

This lily was suppose to be a peach colored ‘Windsor
Castle’ lily and I planted it in my orange and peach bed.
I think it is a mislabeled lily because it is far from being
peach. It seems I have the worst luck at getting mislabeled
plants. LOL! Anyone know what it may be???

Monarda_Pinks

Monarda Pink
This Bee balm has grown so tall this year and is in its
second year. I am looking forward to seeing it leap next year.

NewDawn_Rose_May24

Climbing Rose ‘New Dawn’

This rose is winding down now with only a few blooms left.

OStrawberry

Fragaria ‘Lipstick’ Ornamental Strawberry

This ornamental strawberry plant is getting runners now
and I am going to try to anchor the runners to take root.
It has had a few tiny berries also.

Hi Lona,

Wonderful flowers, so much in bloom - I especially enjoy looking at your Yarrow, I've always had bad luck with this but a very cheap specimen I bought last year has grown considerably this year and I'm so happy!

You have so many beautiful blooms today. Love the monarda and Razzmatazz. I have several yarrows too and love them. I have to remember to cut some of the yellow to dry.

Your garden looks so pretty. I find that I have a lot of pink blooming here too. I really love that Daylily, it does seem you get a lot of mislabeled plants. Last year I had a few double flowers on my Double Decker, but nothing like the pictures. Mine won't bloom for awhile, but it'll be interesting to see what they do.

Lona, I also seem to have a lot of pink in my garden, mostly pink roses. I almost have to force myself to include other colors.

Lona, at a loss for words? I hope you're feeling okay. :)

I can't tell you what the lily is but it looks like a daylily of some kind. A very nice one too since so many of them lean towards the oranges. Looks great with the Achillea. I love the bonus-spider on the crown vetch.

I think we have the plant breeders to blame when plants revert to their former state. Apparently they didn't leave it in the test gardens long enough. ($$$$) Still, it's a pretty echinacea. Razzmatazz is a beaut! Your garden is so much farther along than mine. We never see Echinaceas before July--usually the middle of July.

My favorite of all your beauties, can you guess? It's the Monarda. I love the pink tone in both the close up shot and in the garden. No surprise there, right? :)

Pretty pinks but New Dawn always steals the show for me!

Lona - love all the pink and purples in your garden....the rassmatazz is amazing. In my opinion, these hybrids sometimes look unnatural, but this one is gorgeous.

Such beautiful blooms, as always. I am quite taken with your little dianthus, and will keep my eyes open for it. :)

LOVE, love, love that pink monarda Lona. I'm headed to the greenhouse tomorrow to see if I can find some! All the pink is great with me. It's all gorgeous too.

Perfectly pink, it all looks so good.

I grew Monardia from seed last year, but the silly thing keeps getting mildew. I wanted to grow the pink, but mine are red.

Yours however are gorgeous.

I keep looking at yarrows in the Bluestone Perennials catalog but haven't bought any yet. Yours are lovely! I'll find a place for some eventually, I'm sure!
