I am joining in with Carol at “May Dreams Gardens” for Garden Bloggers’ Bloom Day May 2011 with a few blooms that are now in the garden.
The Alliums ‘Purple Sensation’ have been such a treat this spring. I am making plans now to add more this fall to the garden.
Ajuga ‘Burgundy Glow’ is still blooming away.
The Brunnera is finishing up blooming its tiny blue blossoms.
The Iberis white Candytuft is also slowing down now but I have so loved its first time blooms this spring.
Clematis ‘ Josephine” is starting to open now for the first time since it was planted.
Some of the old fashioned purple Irises along the Woodland bed are starting to bloom.
A late frost ended the blooming of the old fashioned lilacs.
Polemonium ‘Stairway to Heaven’ Jacobs Ladder.
Fragaria ‘Lipstick’ Ornamental Strawberry
A new tall Phlox ‘Becky Towe’ has been planted.
Tiarella ‘Spring Symphony’ Foamy Bells
Weigela ‘Florida Variegata’
And the ants have arrived right on time on the peony buds.
Happy Gardening,
Lona

Do you always get ants on your peonies
and do they do any damage? Wonderful photographs. I presume you use a digital camera and what app? They are so sharp> best wishes janet
PS ThaNKS FOR YOU PICK.
Oh how I wish I could experience Lilac in reality. I've always imagined it would be magnificent to the eyes and nose.
Love the Tiarella and that pretty little Phlox. So many gorgeous blooms and so many that are never seen in gardens here. It's always great visiting your lovely garden, Lona. Fantastic photos too.
What stunning display!!! That last photo of the peony and ants is cute. Your flowers are so lovely! Happy GBBD Day!
Pretty blooms. I especially like the foamflower. Cute pic of the ants on your peony bud, though I'm sure you're not too crazy about it!
Beautiful photography! Thank you for showing us so many lovely blooms. I love the alliums with the blue background especially...
Great pics. It's still raining up here.
Lona, I love that GBBD forces me to focus on what is going on at a moment in time. You have a lot of beautiful flowers. Carolyn
Such fantastic blooms you shared for bloom day. I especially liked the pink blooms on the ornamental strawberry.
Your Rhodies are simply gorgeous!
That photo of Josephine is such a tease! What color will she be when she finally opens up? (How exciting!) :)
My sister has the pink strawberry, really pretty pink. Happy GBBD
Beautiful spring shots! I think if I had the Tiarella in my garden, I wouldn't be able to stop taking photos of it - it's stunning! Probably the lilac too ;)
Hi Lona, I've had my first experience with Allium 'purple sensation' this year too, they are so fun! The Tiarella is new to me, just a delicate bloom! Happy GBBD!
Lona, your garden is bursting with lovely plants and shrubs . Spectacular beauty - phlox 'Becky Towe' and dicentra.
Very pretty blooms and great photos.
Pretty photos. I have some ajuga like that and have been enjoying the variegated foliage. Most of my other ajuga is dark.
Look at all the pretties! And a peony bud - I have a few on my earliest peonies and am crossing my fingers that many of the others will show me at least one bloom. It's so hard to wait years for all these new plants to bloom!
Lona girl doesn't it make you laugh to watch those ants on the peony ? it cracks me up every time .. is that a "small minds amused by small things" sort of deal ? haha .. I mentioned your post about picture theives in a PS post to my brunnera post .. I got burned by an organization here in Ontario that used a picture of mine without a please or thank you .. so you know how I feel !
Love your blooms .. I wish the rain would stop for a while so I could take pictures too ! haha
Joy : )
Stunning flowers, I could spend all day in your garden.
Lovely blooms Lona! The blue on your brunnera is gorgeous...I love blues in the garden.

Dear Lona, what a heart lifting post to look at on a dreary nearly-winter day. Even the ants look pretty. Cheers, catmint
Your photos are absolutely beautiful! You have me longing for some of those plants in my garden! I particularly like that variety of Jacob's Ladder.
Your pictures of the white flowers are divine. Beautiful pictures of the Dicentra and old-fashioned too, so lovely and graceful.
