Garden Bloggers’ Bloom Day May 2011

I am joining in with Carol at “May Dreams Gardens” for Garden Bloggers’ Bloom Day May 2011 with a few blooms that are now in the garden.

Alliums

The Alliums ‘Purple Sensation’ have been such a treat this spring. I am making plans now to add more this fall to the garden.

Ajuga Ajuga ‘Burgundy Glow’ is still blooming away.

Brunnera_LookingGlass
The Brunnera is finishing up blooming its tiny blue blossoms.

CandyTuft The Iberis white Candytuft is also slowing down now but I have so loved its first time blooms this spring.

Clematis_Josephine Clematis ‘ Josephine” is starting to open now for the first time since it was planted.

Iris2_OldFashioned
Some of the old fashioned purple Irises along the Woodland bed are starting to bloom.

Lilacs2
A late frost  ended the blooming of the old fashioned lilacs.

JL_StairwayToHeaven Polemonium ‘Stairway to Heaven’ Jacobs Ladder.

Ornamental_Strawberry Fragaria ‘Lipstick’  Ornamental Strawberry

IMG_0047 Dicentra  pink Bleeding Hearts

Phlox_BeckyTowe_New2
A new tall Phlox ‘Becky Towe’  has been planted.

Primrose_White White Primroses

Tiarella_SpringSymphony2
Tiarella  ‘Spring Symphony’ Foamy Bells

Weigela_Florida2_Variegata Weigela  ‘Florida Variegata’

Peony_Ants And the ants have arrived right on time on the peony buds.

Oh how I wish I could experience Lilac in reality. I've always imagined it would be magnificent to the eyes and nose.

Love the Tiarella and that pretty little Phlox. So many gorgeous blooms and so many that are never seen in gardens here. It's always great visiting your lovely garden, Lona. Fantastic photos too.

Pretty blooms. I especially like the foamflower. Cute pic of the ants on your peony bud, though I'm sure you're not too crazy about it!

Pretty photos. I have some ajuga like that and have been enjoying the variegated foliage. Most of my other ajuga is dark.

Look at all the pretties! And a peony bud - I have a few on my earliest peonies and am crossing my fingers that many of the others will show me at least one bloom. It's so hard to wait years for all these new plants to bloom!

Lona girl doesn't it make you laugh to watch those ants on the peony ? it cracks me up every time .. is that a "small minds amused by small things" sort of deal ? haha .. I mentioned your post about picture theives in a PS post to my brunnera post .. I got burned by an organization here in Ontario that used a picture of mine without a please or thank you .. so you know how I feel !
Love your blooms .. I wish the rain would stop for a while so I could take pictures too ! haha
Joy : )
