Gruss An Aachen Floribunda Rose

Happy Mothers Day to all of you Mothers out there. I hope you all have a special day.

It is a wet Sunday here in the hills. Not a stormy day but a gentle soaking rain coming down.

Almost all of the roses are starting to bloom now with the exception of a couple of the new bushes that were planted this spring.

This rose is ‘Gruss An Aachen’ which is is bloom now.

This Floribunda opens buds of light creamy pink which turn to and antique white and finally the blooms turn white as it ages.

Rose_Gruss_An_Aachen5  The compact bush was introduced in 1909 and grows to three feet tall and two feet wide.
It blooms repeatedly in my garden and is a good border rose.
Grows well in zones 5 – 9 and will grow in a little shade for that spot in the garden that does not have full sun.
It does do well as a container plant also.
It does have a mild fragrance.

Everyone have a lovely day and…
Happy Gardening,

What a lovely rose. I hope you had a good Mother's Day!

You asked about the Baptisias ~ my large ones have been in the ground 5-7 years. If they get plenty of good and water they can size up pretty quickly, I'd say 3 years.

Gruss An Aachen is a stunning rose. You have captured it well. Love the soft color variations on this rose. Very nice...

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet! The name is hideous, but the flower itself? Perfection! LOL

That is a lovely rose. I am taken by the color. I don't have any pale-colored roses in my garden, but this sure does inspire me to add some.

Hi Lona, Belated Happy Mother's Day! This is such a pretty, delicate looking rose. I also admired your irises in the last post on my visit. The long view of your roses in the last post is really pretty as well.
